Study of abrasion resistant layers created by laser cladding by means of methodes of dynamic shock impactor
Václavík, Ondřej ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
Diploma thesis studies the layers created by laser cladding and method of testing abrasion resistance of these layers using the method of dynamic shock impactor. In the theoretical part describes laser technologies and their applications, hardness testing and methods of testing of coatings. Proposed by the mechanical testing of the selected materials were carried out and evaluated in the experimental part. The conclusion summarizes final results of the experiment.
Study of properties of layers of carbon steel cladded by high-power semiconductor laser
Segeťa, Petr ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
The aim of my thesis is the analysis of properties of laser cladding. The theoretical part is focus on conventional methods of laser cladding, types and properties of lasers and its applications in industry. Then there is the description of preparing metallographic samples and its assessment, also there are types of wear enclosed. In the experimental part the nickel laser cladding were made by using semiconductor laser, in which the structure, the dilution, the EDS analysis and the hardness with respect to input parameters are assessed.
Renovation of casting molds by laser cladding technology
Cicha, Tereza ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with study of laser cladding technology and possibilities of its use in renovation of casting molds made of hot-work tool steel. The theoretical part describes methods of laser cladding, testing methods and characteristics of the base material and its heat treatment. In the experimental part the test clads, and the metallographic samples were made. The samples were evaluated in terms of macrostructure and microstructure, especially clad geometry, dilution, and defects like pores and cracks. Microhardness was also measured. In conclusion a technical and economic evaluation was performed.
Benefits of use of acoustic emission in scratch testing
Václavek, L. ; Tomáštík, Jan ; Chmelíčková, H. ; Čtvrtlík, R.
Scratch test is regularly used for assessment of cohesive and adhesive strength of thin films and coatings. By default, its evaluation is based on analysis of depth-load-time record and microscopic observation of residual scratch groove. The visual analysis of the residual groove provides the most detailed description of the final damage of the surface (crack patterns, extent of plastic deformation, delamination, etc.), but it may be a time demanding approach. Although the continuous recording of indenter penetration depth and applied load offers instantaneous information about the performance of the tested material, it may not provide sufficient description of the sample’s deformation behaviour. Therefore, other complementary techniques for description of the deformation response to scratch loading are desirable.

Laser cladding with a numerical modelling of the temperature field in material utilization
Stranyánek, Martin ; Chmelíčková, Hana
Laser cladding is presented as a one of the technologies of laser material surface treatment. A series of speciments have been treated using CO.sub.2./sub. laser with a maximum output power of 2.5 kW by this technology. Some characteristics and properties such as shape or microhardness of clad layers were analysed. For numerical calculations of the laser induced temperature field in treated material was used the finite difference method.
Laser cladding of low-carbon steel
Stranyánek, Martin ; Chmelíčková, Hana
The paper presents laser cladding as one of the methods od laser materials surface treatment. There is introduced a brief description of the powder injection laser cladding method.
Study on material composition in the layer of coat produced by laser
Stranyánek, Martin
The article deals with investigation of layers produced by the laser cladding technology from viewpoint of material changes in treated area. The elements distribution was studied by scannig electron microscopy.
