HOUMANIOVÁ, Daniela
The aim of this Bachelor Thesis has been a summary of a fundamental knowledge of the dog´s nutrition. The research has been focused particularly on the possibilities and the technique of the feeding, nutritional needs of single categories of dogs, the feedstuff distribution, and the use of the salmon oil as a food supplement. The next aim has been to perform a test of preference in order to find out the attractiveness of the salmon oil for dogs. 265 dogs of different breeds, age and weight categories have been put on the experiment in total. The dogs have been concurrently given two samples of a hypoalergenic granular feedstuff while one of them was enhanced with a salmon oil addition. The choices of the dogs have been recorded and subsequently statistically evaluated. In accordance with the results the dogs have statistically provably preffered those samples with the added salmon oil, namely in 63.6%. The results show that the salmon oil has been more often prefered by dogs with a heightened activity, juveniles and seniors; however these differences were not statistically provable.
Vliv krmení na senzorickou jakost kuřecího a rybího masa
Konečná, Kristýna
The topic of the thesis is The Influence of Feeding on the Sensory Quality of Chicken and Fish Meat. The work deals with the importance and the quality of chicken and fish meat and describes the effect of feeding on its sensory quality. It was observed the influence of fat contained in the feed to the chicken and fish meat quality. There were two basic types of feed in the chicken experiment. The control group of broilers was fed with a standard feed mixture and the experimental two groups with mixture with addition of 10% rapeseed oil. Subsequently sensory analysis assessed the differences between these groups, ROSS and COBB broilers and between slaughter parts (the chicken´s thighs and breasts). In the second practical meat of rainbow trout which came from five ponds was evaluated. Their feed differed mainly in the fat. In the sensory evaluation the sensory quality differences among the groups of ponds were assessed. The measured values were statistically processed cobwebby diagrams. The results showed the addition of rapeseed oil into the broiler feed had positive effect on the sensory quality to the ROSS chicken´s thighs and breasts. For the hybrid COBB there was no significant impact on the quality of chicken´s breasts or thighs muscle. The groups of rainbow trout were evaluated the best group fed by the mixture with the middle amount of the fat around 20 %.
Porovnání účinnosti peletovaného krmiva s obsahem hmyzu a směsi s běžným složením při odchovu okouna říčního (Perca fluviatilis) v poloprovozních podmínkách
NOVOTNÝ, Martin
This thesis deals with the possibility of using insects as a potential source of proteins in artificial feed for Eurasian perch. In conventional feed, 25 % of fish meal was replaced by meal from adult Acheta domestica and Zophobas morio. There were performed two 12-week long experiments, the first one in the Experimental Fishery Workplace at the Faculty of Fisheries and Water Protection of the University of South Bohemia in Vodňany and the second one in the commercial operation of Anapartners s.r.o. Company in Prague Horní Počernice. The production indicators of the breed were evaluated and the fat and fatty acids in the fish muscles were analyzed as an important indicator of its nutritional value. At the end of both experiments, fish fed by experimental feeds showed lower length and weight gains and worse feed conversion, compared to fish fed by control diet. During the experiment and after its completion, the feed effect on fish survival were not noticed. Furthermore, there were not found any changes in fat content in fish muscles, but changes in the content of individual fatty acids were noticed. In fish fed with experimental feed, the content of linoleic acid (C18: 2n-6) increased as well as the total content of n-6 fatty acids, on the contrary, the content of n-3 fatty acids in the fish muscle decreased more than in fish fed by control diet. This also affected the resulting ratio of the n-6 fatty acid to n-3 fatty acid ratio, while this ratio increased significantly in the experimental fish group. Changes in fatty acids content in fish muscle were small and did not affect its nutritional value from the perspective of human consumption. In other experiments dealing with this topic, it is necessary to focus on testing of other insect species or to modify the quantity of substituted fishmeal.
Vliv kvality a zpracování siláží a senáží na mléčnou užitkovost dojnic ve vazném ustájení
VŠETEČKA, Miroslav
Milk yield of dairy cows is mainly determined by their nutrition and state of health. Dairy cows turn roughage into milk the most effectively. The assessment of the level of nutrition and the processing of silage and haylage was performed in operating conditions. Quality of roughage, technique of nutrition and its influence on milk yield in stanchion-tied stable were assessed. Data were observed over a peri-od of 3 years (2012 2015). The observation included Czech Fleckvieh Breed and Holstein Breed. Average daily yield data were monitored with all dairy cows, which were in lactation period during the observation. The gained data were entered into diagrams and charts and evaluated. The highest performance results have been achieved in 2015, the lowest performance results have been achieved in 2013.
The alimentary diseases of pet animals
Kohoutová, Monika ; Kodeš, Alois (advisor) ; Hučko, Boris (referee)
Thesis is focused on characteristics of disease, that arised due to bad nutrition of animals. In regards of comprehensiveness of chosen topic, the main point of attention was given on cats in unity of stated aim and methods of the thesis. The introduction is based on specifying of main terms and following the resolution of external enviroment factors such as stabling, hygiene of cat breeding and their nutrition since birth. Mainly no literature does not state the right structure of feed dose in detail, we can only work with estimated data. Our effort has been using the scientific literature to choose the generalizing opinions about optimal compounds of feed, nutrition value and feed proper or improper for domestic cats. The most important part of the thesis is diseases caused by malnutrition of cats. Basic problems connected with feed intake are reluctance, vommiting, diarrhoea, constipation and tooth caries. Next part is based on obesity that is severe metabolic defect and causes other relevant malformations. Following part is about nutrition allergies and intolerance problems. Finally, in the end of this work there are said inherent problems caused by lack of some feed components causing troubles with fur and skeleton. Health problems or disorders associated with food are first characterized and further described their causes, treatment and prevention. The treatment can be done by the breeder in some ways; in more difficult cases is necessarry to ask the Veterinarian who sets individual treatment plan.
The risks of disease in dogs associated with improper nutrition
Pečená, Jana ; Kodeš, Alois (advisor) ; Hučko, Boris (referee)
It is modern to have a pet in this time. Only in the Czech Republic have every second family one cat or dog. With increasing popularity of livestock breeding are animals often kept by people without experiences, who don´t know, what animals need. In the case of dogs exist lots of organizations, who help owners with training and playing with dogs, they allow the dog to exhibit or caring about treir appearance. But it´s only few oraginazations, who teach owners, how to feed the dogs, how many nutrients thein dog need for healthy growing, shiny hair or making some activities. Owners and breeders of dogs are under pressure of advertisements, who convince them about quality of fodders and it´s few of owners, who are interested about real quality nutrition for dogs. This work provides general summary of basic feed ingredients, their importace for functioning organism and results of improper ratios between them. Subsequently focuses the most often ways of feeding dogs, their characteristic, disadvantages and possible risks due to the lack of consistency in feeding. Hereafter are listed problems and diseases, who can develop from inaccurate balanced food or badly modify food. It´s need to understand dependence between organism and nutrients. Important is a way of feeding dogs with their risks. Appropriate and inappropriate viands must be accepted. In conclusion of this work can be said, that compilation of balanced diet is very complicated process, which can easily causes bad aftermath and which must be accepted.

Lešnerová, Olga ; Lukešová, Daniela (advisor) ; Fernández Cusimamani, Eloy (referee)
Bachelors thesis mainly discussed the findings which are related to significance and potential utilization of the sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) in veterinary medicine. We could appoint an antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects, positive effects on the cardiovascular system or treatment of skin diseases. Sea buckthorn could be also used in animal nutrition. For feeding purposes were mainly used leaves and residues after pressing juice and oils. The work also included informations about plant morphology, cultural management, harvesting, yield and processing. In a separate chapter were mentioned substances which were contained in various parts of the plant. Thanks to them, seabuckthorn is so familiar recently. Its potential is primarily in the use of bioactive substances in the field of medicine. In the last part of the thesis were created diagrams that showed quantity of selected substances contained in sea buckthorn fruits/juice and oils. For comparison were chosen vitamin C for fruits, vitamin E and carotenoids for oils within two subspecies H. rhamnoides L. subsp. rhamnoides and H. rhamnoides L. subsp. sinensis. The amount of extracted substances were often influenced by the used technology. In a detailed study and comparison of literature sources, it was found that for the subspecies H. rhamnoides L. subsp. rhamnoides literature indicates the quantity of vitamin C with a median of 229,5 mg/100 g, the content of vitamin E in the seed oil with a median of 351,8 mg/100 g and for pulp oil 147,5 mg/100 g. The carotenoid content in seed oil came with median 16,25 mg/100 g, for pulp oil it was 265 mg/100 g. Subspecies H. rhamnoides L. subsp. sinensis had the median value of vitamin C 1038 mg/100 g. For vitamin E in seed oil was the median value 119,3 mg/100 g, in pulp oil it was 171 mg/100 g. The median for carotenoids content in seed oil was 32,5 mg/100 g, the value for pulp oil was 282 mg/100 g. It will be necessary to ensure the subsequent research analysis about substances, especially in the field of veterinary medicine.
Kompletní granulovaná krmiva pro psy
UHLÍŘOVÁ, Gabriela
Bachelor's thesis summarizes the basic knowledge about the importance of individualnutrients in dogs nutrition. Thesis discusses possibilities of feeding dogs and methods of the food classification. Part of this work was preferential test of the first choice. Two complete granulated dog foods for adult dogs were chosen for the test. The first food contained high amount of animal ingredients (65 %), whereas the second food contained much lower amount of animal ingredients (12 %). There were 84 dogs included in the test. The test was repeated three times with each dog. Results were statistically evaluated. There was statistically significant difference between the food preferences. Results were in favor of the second food, particularly 61,9 % of the dogs chose the food with lower amount of animal ingredients. The first food (with higher amount of animal ingredients) was preferred only by 38,1 % of the dogs. The first food is better for dogs, as its nutritional composition better meets the needs of dogs. Because of the high amount of animal ingredients in the first food, the first food should be more attractive for dogs, but the dogs prefer the second food. A possible explanation could be plausible presence of additives increasing the attractiveness of the second food.
