Glamping as a new form of tourism and an analysis of its potential in Czechia

The diploma thesis deals with a new form of tourism - glamping in Czechia. Based on the analysis of the Czech glamping offer explains the current development and potential of glamping in Czechia. The first part of the thesis focuses on the theoretical framing of glamping tourism as part of tourism and its general characteristics and latest development. An important point of the thesis was to define the geographical distribution of glamping in the world. Based on the identified characteristics, a qualitative research of glamping in Czechia were created, the methods of which are the analysis of market supply and demand and the method of semi-structured interview and field research. The empirical part of the thesis is based on an analysis of the current state of glamping in Czechia. In this part, the locations of glamping and the preconditions for glamping destinations in Czechia were defined, which contains also a general characteristic, which also deals with the target group and the seasonality of glamping. The thesis was written during the Covid-19 pandemic, and therefore examines its effects and consequences especially on glamping tourism. This thesis deals with the issue of current preferences of young Slovak people in tourism. Its main objective is to find out which forms of tourism they prefer. This objective also contains a sub-objective which aims to define the factors influencing their choice of a form of tourism. Subsequently, an online questionnaire survey is evaluated on the basis of the theoretical knowledge presented in this bachelor´s thesis. It focuses on preferred forms of tourism, specific forms of tourism, means of travelling, and factors that influence young people. The analysis of individual results has revealed that young people prefer sightseeing and experience-based tourism. As for the specific forms, most of them have participated in the dark tourism. A specific product design and recommendations that can serve as an inspiration for a more effective targeting of the given age group are presented in the final part of the thesis.

This thesis deals with the travel of young people from 15 to 29 years. It examines their travel preferences in order to identify the tourist specifics of this generation. The theoretical part sums up the knowledge of tourism and its participants, basic and specific types of tourism, changes in consumer behaviour and creating the profile of young traveller. The practical part is devoted to data processing, determining typical characteristics of youth tourism and suggesting ideas for better use of the potential of this segment in tourism.

Kollárová, L. Consumer preferences of young people in the tourism market. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2018. This bachelor thesis focuses on consumer preferences of young people from Czech Republic aged between 19 to 30 in a tourism market. The main objective of this work is to explain consumer behavior of the given age group in the tourism market and to subsequently make recommendations on segment targeting. In this bachelor thesis are examined aspects influencing youth travel, for example frequency and investment in tourism, the use of tourism services and preferred forms of tourism. The results of primary quantitative research are obtained through a survey questionnaire. These results lead to suggestions and recommendations on effective targeting for the selected segment, and to design a reservation system.
Couchsurfing - an alternative way of travelling

This bachelor thesis deals with Couchsurfing, which is a hospitality service and social networking website. Currently it is a popular service in individual tourism. The work describes the forms of tourism, general motivational factors for tourism and there is a detailed definition of the term Couchsurfing identified. It also presents a marketing research, which is based on a questionnaire survey on concrete Facebook groups dealing with Couchsurfing. The survey is complemented by interviews with Couchsurfers. This work identifies the typical user of the Couchsurfing and it especially finds out the main reasons which motivate the use of this social network. This bachelor thesis also indicates the socio cultural and economic impacts of this new way of travelling. Finally, the differences between individual and organized tourism and their advantages and disadvantages are described there.
