An experimental investigation of yield surfaces anisotropies
Štefan, Jan ; Parma, Slavomír ; Marek, René ; Plešek, Jiří ; Feigenbaum, H. P. ; Ciocanel, C.
This contribution is dedicated to a rigorous experimental procedure for evaluation of yield surfaces of common metallic materials. This yield surface tracing procedure employs thin-walled tubular specimens to identify individual yield points of the material under arbitrary combinations of axial load and torque. A yield point is identified on the basis of a prescribed threshold for the effective plastic strain that is being continuously and fully automatically evaluated throughout the test. The experimental results generated with this tracing method are promising, leading to shapes of the yield surfaces conform with the von Mises criterion. The proposed methodology can effectively capture the YS shape.
Proceedings of 13th Youth symposium on experimental solid mechanics
Kytýř, Daniel ; Zlámal, Petr ; Růžička, M.
Proceedings of the 13th Youth Symposium on Experimental Solid Mechanics held in Decin, Czech Republic. The symposium is focused on experimental methods and numerical simulation in engineering sciences. The proceedings capture the trends in development of experimental methods in mechanics of structures and materials (regardless to the material and structure type, covering fields from civil and mechanical engineering to biomechanics) as well as deployment of particular solution for measurement and automation systems for evaluation of experimental data.
Porovnání deformační a přírustkové teorie plasticity používané pro problémy experimetnální mechaniky
Vavřík, Daniel
Deformation Theory of Plasticity is often used for evaluation of the experimental data. Main reason of this theory using is its simple implementation into experimental-numeric software. It is supposed that difference between power low and appropriate incremental theory applied is negligible if monotonic loading is presented and isotropic material is used. It is shown in this paper that this presupposition can be no longer valid if high ductile material is used although external loading is strictly monotonic and proportional.
Optical methods in experimental mechanics
Hrabovský, Miroslav
The paper deals with experimental methods used in experimental mechanics, especially in experimental stress analysis. High attention is given to optical methods - classical and modern optical methods and its future in mechanics. They are classical interferometry based on optical interference and superposition, stereometry, photoplasticity, moiré, holography speckle photography etc.
