Zhodnocení rodu Tilia L. z pohledu zahradní a krajinářské architektury =: Evaluation of the genus Tilia L. from the point of view of garden and landscape architecture /

The present dissertation entitled "Evaluation of the genus Tilia L. from the point of view of garden and landscape architecture" was elaborated between October 2007 and February 2018. The work is divided in the standard way for this type of final paper consisting of introduction, background sources, aims, literature survey, methodology, materials, results, discussion, conclusion, literature review etc, contains 339 pages of text, 437 pictures, 99 plates, 7 tables which are place in the text, especially in part of results. This work brings information about 23 cultivated species, the most important hybrids and more than 240 cultivars of lime trees. It summarizes information about the origin of the cultivated specimens, their characteristics and their description, accompanied by a large number of pictorial materials. There is summary of current situation from the point of view of systematic botany, name and origin of plants in culture, grown assortment and introduction of trees. The author also deals with issues of important lime trees collections, history of use in objects of garden art, but also focuses on the etymological origin of lime, symbolism and folk culture. From the point of view of the general characteristics of the genus, the work contains a brief outline of the genus structure, the geographical distribution, the important user and ecological-cultivating properties. From the described assortment has been determined basic assortment which has to be widely known and available: Tilia cordata, Tilia platyphyllos, Tilia tomentosa, Tilia tomentosa 'Petiolaris', Tilia ×euchlora, Tilia ×europaea. Based on the experience of growing in Oplany Klíče, an additional assortment has been set with regard to the needs of garden and landscaping architecture. From the phenological observations in Oplany Klíče has been made tables with sequence of unfolding leaves and flowering.
