Vanity Fair in Word and Film: A Comparative and Contrastive Study

The study is an analysis of Vanity Fair written by W. M. Thackeray, its primary characters, dialogs and plot. The subsequent comparison to a BBC adaptation will pinpoint the main differences and alternations referring to the contemporary times and genre, to what extent the Thackeray's version is altered. Student will also consider the historical background of the novel.
