Social Enterprise-Centered Varieties of Capitalism: How does the variant of capitalism impact the social enterprise sector?

Sociální podniky představují způsob, jak využít již existující instituce a trhy k řešení sociálních potřeb, které nejsou dostatečně pokryty soukromým sektorem nebo státem. Sociální problémy, které se snaží řešit, jejich institucionální rámec a trhy na kterých operují jsou jedinečné v rámci svého národního nebo dokonce regionálního kontextu. To vytváří problémy s rozšiřováním a implementací úspěšných modelů do nových komunit. Tato diplomová práce definuje tyto institucionální kontexty pomocí teoretického rámce odvozeného z literatury o Modelech kapitalismu na základě srovnání ukazatelů ekonomické koordinace a vládní intervence v různých zemích. Pomocí regresních technik nejmenších čtverců na průřezovém souboru dat ze 49 zemí byly posuzovány následující tři výzkumné otázky. Zaprvé, má model kapitalismu vliv na sektor sociálních podniků? Za druhé, mají cílené snahy zaměřené na podporu podnikání vedlejší účinky, které prospívají sociálnímu podnikání? Za třetí, poskytují společnosti ve kterých převládají postmaterialistické hodnoty příznivější prostředí pro rozvoj sociálních podniků? Výsledky této analýzy ukazují, že zatímco komerční podnikatelská aktivita je pozitivně ovlivněna ekonomickou koordinací a negativně ovlivněna vládní intervencí, neexistuje důkaz, že by podobný vztah existoval i v případě...

Analysis of the determinants of the entrepreneurship in a country

This paper aims at explaining the impact of macroeconomic and institutional conditions on cross- country variation in nascent entrepreneurship. Some authors have found significant effects of macroeconomic and institutional variables in their papers. We use data from 56 countries involved in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project. We analyse these data from 2006-2012 period using econometric panel data methods. Our results do not confirm the impact of most of the included variables. The results show that the established entrepreneurship rate seems to influence the nascent entrepreneurship rate positively. We also find weak negative effect of amount of paid-in minimum capital associated with starting business. We test the hypothesis of U-shape relation between economic development and nascent entrepreneurship rate. Our results support this hypothesis only in the model without any control variable. The influence of economic development on nascent entrepreneurship rate is insignificant in our full model. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Analysis of the link between self-efficacy, capital, planning and ambition of nascent entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic

The thesis is based on data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project and analyzes the link between self-efficacy of Czech nascent entrepreneurs and the disposable amount of human, social and financial capital. It also examines the link between self-efficacy and planning activities of nascent entrepreneurs. The second part of the paper analyzes the relationship between growth ambitions of nascent entrepreneurs and disposable human, social, financial capital and business planning. It also shows the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and growth aspirations of Czech nascent entrepreneurs.
