Vedralová, Hana ; Malcová, Zuzana (advisor)
Model theatre is much more than a historic toy for children. Due to the absence of photography in the early nineteenth century, it is also an important reflection of the social life of the middleclass and plays a significant role in the documentation of contemporary theatre. Czech tradition of puppetry is famous all over the world and aspires to be registered in the Intangible Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO. This thesis should introduce basic facts about this theatrical genre, present model theatre history and its presence -- world paper festivals and uncover its today importance. Other aim of this thesis is to describe the current legislation of UNESCO in relation to intangible cultural heritage and the possibility of influencing and mutual enriching of Czech puppetry and this world theatrical form -- the paper theatre.
