Analysis of stress field in the vicinity of fatigue crack in IPE made from stainless steel
Juhászová, Tereza ; Malíková, Lucie (referee) ; Seitl, Stanislav (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on analysis of stress field in the vicinity of stress concentration of stainless steel IPE beam loaded in tree point bending. Theoretical part includes introduction to fracture mechanics with basic terms, principles and variables used to describe fatigue behaviour of material. It concludes teoretical grounds of fracture tests which are future focus of the thesis, methodes used by numerical softwares and methodes used to obtain numerical results. Practical part includes comparision between two and three dimensional numerical models in three point bending, IPE model with different crack front shapes and plastic zone size. Numerical modelling was processed in Ansys Mechanical APDL. Thesis also involves results of experimental testing evaluated using numerical model.
Analysis of crack behaviour under mixed-mode loading
Antalík, Adam ; Miarka, Petr (referee) ; Malíková, Lucie (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of the stress field in the vicinity of the crack tip, described by the stress intensity factor K. The objective of this thesis is to calculate values of the parameter K for a crack in a rectangular specimen subjected to asymmetric four-point bending. Thus, mixed mode I + II loading conditions occur. The first part of the thesis deals with the fracture mechanics concept. In the second part, a cracked specimen is modelled in the Ansys Mechanical APDL software. In the final part, the resulting values of the parameter K, obtained from the commands KCALC, CINT and two empirical equations, are presented. The MTS criterion is applied for estimation of the crack propagation angel and all results are discussed thoroughly.
Static and dynamic footbridge analysis
Jankovičová, Soňa ; Lang, Rostislav (referee) ; Martinásek, Josef (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is static and dynamic analysis of the load-bearing steel structure of footbridge with reinforced concrete bridge deck, standing over the Morava river. Bridge was designed as a solid ribbed arch, so it consists of a pair truss beams, strengthen by two steel arches with suspenders. There were created two different models, one in program SCIA Engineer, where the individual elements were designed as spatial bars. In the second model, they were created as surface elements. For such model, it was more appropriate to use ANSYS Mechanical APDL program. The load and selected combinations are calculated manually according to valid national standardization documents. Furthermore, this thesis contains manual calculations of stress. The results are compared with computing programs to determine the correct functioning of the models. In the next part, the work is devoted to static and dynamic analysis, where it compares the results of the mentioned two model situations.
