Wall Shear Rate Components for Wavy Taylor-Couette Flow
Kristiawan, M. ; Jirout, T. ; El Faye, A. ; Sobolík, Václav
Experiments were carried out in the wavy flow between concentric cylinders with the inner cylinder rotating and outer cylinder fixed. The radius and aspect ratios were 0.8 and 44, respectively. The electrodiffusion method with a three-segment and simple micro-electrodes was used for study of the axial and azimuthal components of shear rate at the outer cylinder. The axial distributions of these components were obtained by sweeping the vortices along the probes using a slow axial flow. The wavelength and phase celerity of waves, height of vortices and their drifting velocity were calculated from the measured limiting diffusion currents.
Electrodiffusion Diagnostics of Apparent Wall Slip in Polymer Solutions
Wein, Ondřej ; Tovčigrečko, Valentin ; Večeř, M. ; Sobolík, Václav
Two substantially improved experimental methods, the apparent wall slip (AWS) rotational viscometry with a Morse-taper sensor and electrodiffusion (ED) flow diagnostics with autocalibrated friction probes, are used to study near-to-wall velocity profiles in aqueous solutions of high-molecular polysaccharides under viscometric flow conditions. By comparing the velocity data from the both methods, estimates of the depleted layer thickness in dependence on wall shear stress are obtained. The ED data support the two-layer model of AWS effect, with the constant enhanced fluidity across the depleted layer.

Vliv změny struktury semen rostlin na rychlost jejich extrakce superkritickým CO2
Rochová, K. ; Sovová, Helena ; Sobolík, Václav ; Allaf, K.
The beans were either cut into half or milled to particles. The extraction curves were measured and compared with mathematical model for oil extraction from plants. Textural properties of tested materials were measured using mercury porosimetry and helium pycnometry. The pore size distribution in 0.01-100 um range was bimodal; the increase in the volume of pores after DIC treatment was tenfold for 0.1 µm pores and thirty-fold for 10 um pores.
Extrakce éterického oleje pomocí procesu okamžitého odpaření: aplikace na indonézské květy Ylang-Ylang
Kristiawan, M. ; Sobolík, Václav ; Allaf, K.
The extraction of Indonesian ylang-ylang oil was carried out by new process: Instantaneous Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC). This process involves subjecting the dried ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata Hook. fil. et Thomson, forma macrophylla) flowers for a short period time to a saturated steam pressure, followed by an abrupt pressure drop into vacuum (about 50 mbar).
Mapování Couettova-Taylorova proudění pomocí elektrodifuzní
Wouahbi, F. ; Havlica, Jaromír ; Allaf, K. ; Sobolík, Václav
Three Taylor instabilities between coaxial cylinders are studied: Taylor Vortex Flow, Wavy Vortex Flow and Modulated Wavy Flow. The aim of the present in vestigation is to extended our knowledge about spatial distribution of wall shear rate components and their fluctuation freguencies in these flow regime. The vortex height, azimuthal wave number and their amplitude and modulation frequency is also investigated.
