Nevertheless this work centres on characterizing of gardens nascent at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. It focuses mainly on the end of 19th century until the establishment of First Czechoslovak Republic. The park “Na Vinici” in Pardubice by landscape architect František was chosen as a model object. The park was analyzed in detail both from its historical development but also its current state. The principles of restoration of historical buildings were applied in the park that has not been explored in detail so far, by using available methodologies for restoration of historical gardens. Methodologies used while creating studies were customized according to available archived resources and current state of the chosen object. Based on relevant methodologies and studies, the thesis formulates possible principles that should be followed in the current adaptations of gardens and park created at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
