	HOUSE ON THE EDGE – Valašské Meziříčí, Sokolská Street Soldánová, Martina ; Šupler, Libor (referee) ; Jura, Pavel (advisor) The main objective of this bachelor´s thesis was to find an appropriate functional, urbanistic and architectional solution of a problematic area, located on the edge of historic core of the town Valasske Mezirici. On the grounds, which lie on the border of compact historic area and monofunctional panel housing estate, is currently located a car lot. Instead of it, it is proposed a set of three buildings, which react by their mass on the following street frontage and by their placement create both public and privat space. The chosen functions are mixed residential, administrative and commercial complemented with underground parking, which altogether seems like the most favorable for a life in the town centre. It proposes a school building which is located on the edge between the city centre and the greenery by the river. The shape of the building creates two courtyards. He deals with the development of the organization and its activities with youth. To understand the context, the first part also covers the history and mission of the YMCA on a global and national scale.
