Contemporary European Animated Features for Adults

The master's thesis on Contemporary European Animated Features for Adults describes and analyses feature animated films for adult audience that were produced in Europe between 2009 and 2015. The animated feature film historical context as well as the aspect of adults as the target group are mentioned. The thesis’ assumption is that ten years ago Persepolis and Vals Im Bashir has settled a new direction of European animation. Within the determined and described criteria the common features of analysed films are introduced, including the most common stories, genres, animation techniques, ways of financing and distribution channels. The general frame of European animation as a whole is described. The contemporary trends and tendencies are defined based on the analysis of finished films as well as those in development.
Film festival strategy planning on example of the 30th Famufest

The thesis aims to determine the process of developing a strategic analysis for film festivals. The processes are demonstrated on a specific example of the film festival of student films Famufest. The aim is to determine the strengths and potential future threats. The theoretical part describes the structure of the festival and the specifics of its operation compared to other film festivals in the Czech environment. The practical part analyzes the festival based on strategic analysis procedures. It contains the description of its currently functioning, activity status and future direction, which the festival could take.
Trends in the Production of Animated Films

In my master diploma thesis, I try to map the current situation and actual trends with respect to creative, financial and production processes. I focus on film, television and other productions. The greatest emphasis is put on the producer?s point of view. The Introduction focuses on the specifics of the animated film and is followed by chapters focusing on the situation in the Czech Republic. In addition to describing the current situation on the scene of animated film I try to explain the use of the principles of animation in other branches of the entertainment industry. In the last part of my thesis, I offer a summary of interviews with producers of contemporary animated feature films. I am interested in the circumstances of the development of the film, ways of working with the script, attitude to new technologies and specific problems related to the realization.
Film Festivals and Cine-meetings

The following dissertation examines the current film festival scene in the Czech Republic. It presents the largest and the most importlant film festivals and notable screenings occurring yearly in the country. Further examining their respective histories and probing their progressions from year to vear. Additionally analyzing their organizational schemas and accompanying programs, supported by detailed statistics from 2004 to 2006 for selected festivals. Also discussed are forms of otganizational srtuctures and the professionals involved in film festivals and special screenings. Included are different types financing for film festivals, acquiring government subsidies and taking adventage of international programs and grants. A section is also devoted to a producerś perspective on the existence of film festivals, criteria on selecting festival strategies and detailing channels through which individual Czech film genres go through. In conclusion an assessment of the current situation of film festivals, and how producers of Czech films benefit from what film festivals in the Czech republic have to offer.
Organizing international film festival

This thesis describes the specifics of organizing an international film festival in the conditions of the Czech Republic. It maps the basic rules of the creation, organisation and operations at the film festival, detailed instructions on how to proceed in its first steps. It is therefore rather a practical guide, which is missing at our market. Since there is no publication on this topic published yet the author is bases his thesis purely on his own experience and the experience of his colleagues. The core issues of this work are: What is Film Festival and how to proceed in the organisation of film festival in the Czech Republic? And is it worth all the trouble?
