Challenges to actor´s authenticity

Author of this thesis is concerned with looking for the authenticity. She tries to explain this term as much as possible. How important is authorship, meditation and the intention. What aspects we need to authentic acting. She is mostly interested in connecting the authenticity and acting. Whether the connecting is possible or not. And the reasons why we should to put our mind to it. In the second part she adds her personal and professional experineces to reflect her research.

In my bachelor thesis Acting as both a Profession and a Study Programme I describe my experience with various methods of acting. I go through examples from my own career in the theatre and in the television and film-making with focus on the possible advantages and disadvantages of working with pedagogues and directors. I examine how their experience and techniques could and have helped me develop both as an actress and as a person and if their advice pushed me forward in my pursuit of theatrical education or rather held me back and how my own approach to acting has changed through the course of my career.

This Thesis is based on reflecting my four year old study on Theatre faculty. Particularly it is study of classical acting and acting with the focus on authorship and pedagogy. Thesis is divided in to two parts. First part describes my experiences as an actor and second part describes experiences as a player.

The topic of this work is the way of its author to pedagogy. The first part describes her pupil`s and student`s experiences. The following part reflects her teaching experience which has laid the basis of her pedagogic approach. Currently this approach is being developed by studies at the Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy. Teaching methods of this department are dealt with in a separate chapter. The author gives special attention to a creative relation between the teacher and the student which is the cornerstone of pedagogic activity.

This master?s thesis describes the way the author goes through to find and accept herself which is considered to be a precondition for free life, communication and creativity. SUMMARY: The diploma thesis ?Experience in Acting with the Inner Partner and Searching for Personal Acting Expression? is discussing the practical experience with a psychosomatic discipline ?Dialogické jednání s vnitřním partnerem? (?Acting with the Inner Partner?) at the Department of Authorship and Pedagogy (KATaP) DAMU. The experience is discussed in three chapters or parts and goes hand in hand with parts discribing experiences coming out of other psychosomatic disciplines that take place at KATaP. Especially: voice education, speech (recitation) education, principles of acting and authorial reading and writing. The diploma thesis also involves reflections of authorial presentations and performances that came into being within the study. The thesis is written in Czech language.
