Use of kinesio tape in patients after ankle sprain

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of ankle sprains and the use of kinesiotape. The aim of the thesis is to describe and use the application of kinesio tape according to Brian Mulligan concept in patients after ankle sprain. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains a description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the foot and ankle joint. It also deals with the problems of ankle sprain, mechanism of injury, treatment and physiotherapy. At the end of the theoretical part, the method of kinesiology taping, Mulligan concept and the MWM (Mobilization with movement) techniques are also described. The practical part describes the data collection, results and their evaluation. Four patients after ankle sprains were involved in the practical part and randomly divided into two groups. Both groups of patients received a standard physiotherapy intervention. This intervention was based on manual techniques and active exercises. At the end of each therapy session, the tape was aplied on two patients. In the appendix, a description of the of the kinesio tape associated with movement according to Brian Mulligan together with photographic documentation of application is included. Kristýna Plevová Title: Physiotherapy intervention in patients with neck pain Subtitle: Sensorimotor stimulation and cervical spine stabilization exercises Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with physiotherapy in patients with cervical pain. This problem is quite common nowadays, it ranks as the fourth most common health problem overall. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the anatomy and kinesiology of the cervical spine, the description and classification of pain in this area and the treatment procedure with a focus on physiotherapy. Furthermore, the concepts of stability and posture are explained. An important part of the thesis is the description of the chosen methods and their use in various studies. In the empirical part, it was necessary to describe the methodological procedures, especially the chosen tests, on the basis of which I evaluated the results of the therapies: the NRS, the NDI, the muscle strength of neck flexion, the Postural Stability Assessment, tests for postural stability (trunk flexion test, diaphragmatic test). Marie Plecháčová Title: Possibilities of affecting pain by using physical therapy in patients with plantar fasciitis Subtitle: Application of ultrasound and high intensity laser Abstrakt bakalářské práce: This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of affecting pain by using therapeutic ultrasound and high intensity laser in patients with plantar fasciitis. The thesis has a practical and a theoretical section. The theoretical section is devoted to pain, which I try to affect via physical therapy, the disease of plantar fasciitis, the principle of therapeutic ultrasound and high power laser and their positive and negative effects, indications, contraindications and their use in the treatment of plantar fasciitis are described. The practical section involved 8 patients with plantar fasciitis in the acute stage. Pressure algometry and functional tests were used for objective evaluation. For subjective evaluation, a short form of Brief Pain Inventory was used, which focuses on pain experienced in the last 24 hours. The results of each method are presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results show an improvement in all the monitored parameters in both groups.
