This thesis deals with the construction and use of smaller computer networks. To build a better and more efficient computer network was used corporate network of parents, which is mainly used for the operation of accounting. The input information was used for generating analysis of the current state of the computer network. The thesis describes the initial state of the computer network Basic Schools and Kindergartens Ohradní (ZŠMŠ Ohradní) in Prague 4 and then its reconstruction, which I largely contributed. ZŠMŠ Ohradní consists of four pavilions and from one building on the other side of the street. The aim of this study is to assess the initial state of the network and point out the shortcomings that we discovered. We found deficiencies in the operation stress tests, measurements and data cabling overall analysis. Original networks connectivity was 100Mb/s. Together with a colleague, we are network administrators. Furthermore, I am going to introduce a new form of network, which has identified deficiencies improved, by using on newer technologies. I will describe its structure, address allocation, active and passive components, and operated services. New network is capable of 1Gb/s, and its spine is going to be 10Gb/s soon. Benefits of this reconstruction is faster, more stable and more modern network that will facilitate the work of employees of ZŠMŠ Ohradní. To these improvements, I have mainly contributed by measurements. I participated in the design and implementation of new form of data network. I collaborated with fellow Poc to the configuration of active elements and network services in reconstructed network.
Building and using of a small computer networks

This Bachelor Thesis deals with designing and building home network according to user requirements. A major aim of this thesis is to describe how to proceed, when creating a draft of home network extension. It is explained how the network can be expanded by other network elements, so that, it allows users to access the Internet and data store from home network and beyond. The Bachelor Thesis is divided into four segments. The first segment assesses the current condition of the home network, in the second segment, the new solution is suggested. The third segment describes the realization of a home network, including the configuration of a new device. The last part evaluates the new state, including the cost of implementation.
The Construction and Usage of Smaller Computer Networks
Straka, Martin ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to document the gradual building of a computer network and its functioning including the theory necessary to create a step-by-step guide for doing so. The theory concerning foresaid funcionality was gained via the use of internet resources and the literature mentioned in the document itself and the practical part is based on the use of resources similar to the ones available at the workplace designed for its use. The document itself is about designing the correct network usable for a small business which is however capable of using higher tiers of client-server network functionality and the traffic monitoring available to it. The second goal is to choose and set up such network services which are crucial or auxiliary for the business core funcionality and the final part is about expanding such small network using VPN.
Building and using smaller computer networks
Ďurica, Matej ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
In these days, the widespread creation of home networks, due to the continuous development of computer technology for personal use. These networks are formed, for example, with the aim of facilitating access to information, ease of communication between people and control of various devices in the home. Their development is influenced by trends in information communication technologies in the market. This bachelor thesis is fully focused on the practical implementation of the proposal for extension of the original smaller home network using the new network elements (wireless routers, switches, network printers, NAS server, device for live monitoring of security cameras) and rendering certain network services (DLNA, print server, VPN, iTunes server, live monitoring of security cameras). A given network was tested with respect to performance network and its response, coverage of Wi-Fi signal, testing remote access, power consumption, read and writes speed of the NAS server.
History and development of session state in the HTTP protocol
Nezdara, Vojtěch ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Vojíř, Stanislav (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze new ways to store session state in the stateless HTTP protocol. Thesis including a description of the development of the HTTP protocol itself. Concerning the session state, the emphasis is on the characteristics of commonly used methods, and new methods that come with the HTML5 specification. The RFC documents and the specifications for new technology published by their creators were used as the main source of information. In the next chapter, the thesis includes a practical test of the new transport protocol SPDY, demonstrating its higher speed. Finally, as a part of this thesis, a simple web chat application based on new technologies using scripting languages PHP and JavaScript, namely WebSocket, Web Storage and IndexedDB, was created. The methods described in this work can serve as a guide to create similar web applications using new technology for less experienced developers. Topic of this thesis was mainly based on the evolution of web sites and the growing importance of local storage on the client side.
Building and use of small computer networks
Nepomucký, Pavel ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
The thesis deals with design of small home network. The main goal is to describe extending home network by new network components, which allow users in specific areas to use newly created wireless connection. The thesis is split into two parts. The first one is given for explanation of network components and their comunication. Second one describes practical demonstration of extending home network by a new component providing wireless conection. The thesis decribes a selection and analysis of network components including setting up, coverage and communication between each access point.
Design and security of small wireless network
Cikánek, Svatopluk ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This thesis deals with design and security of small wireless network and providing selected network services. The thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part is dedicated to theory of networks and looks into metallic and wireless networks and functions of some network components. The second part describes current network in dwelling-house and its network components. The third part deals with network design, innovation, choosing of components and their settings. The last part is devoted to providing network services, their settings and attest.
Practical use of HTML5 and CSS3
Chval, Martin ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Chudán, David (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is HTML5 and CSS3 standard. Both of these specifications are currently still under development and subject to changes. The aim is to examine current state of these specifications, its support in desktop and mobile internet browsers and test their new features in practical part of the thesis. The thesis is divided into several chapters. Theoretical chapters are describing history of both specifications, followed by description of several new features and properties, final parts contain tables with data on support of these features in widespread browsers. The HTML part contains informations about new work plans on this specification. Short chapter of this thesis contains informations about presence of HTML5 and CSS3 on Czech Internet. Practical part describes design and implementation of website with help of the new features. Research was done by comparing current and previous versions of standards. Evaluation of browser support was based on data found on Internet. New features were tested and part of them implemented in practical part of thesis. Contribution of this thesis is summary of current state of these specification and level of their support in internet browsers. Support for features of both specification is steadily getting better. As a result, it is already possible to use their advantages. Part of issues caused by their bad support in old browsers could be evaded in near future. Both specifications contain promising features that will lead to better and more accessible websites.
