Poetry of Chosen Poetesses, Debutants of the Seventies and Eighties of the 20th Century (Poetics and Interpretation)

The dissertation presented focuses on initial stages of work of four selected poetesses that belong to the 20th century's era of the Seventies and the Eighties. The subject of analysis is the poetic work of Viera Prokešová, Dana Podracká, Anna Ondrejková and Mila Haugová. All of them debuted via the same publishing platform - a rubric and later via the literary supplement of periodical Nové Slovo during the time of the strictest normalization process. The dissertation is divided into three chapters with the first one aiming to explain literary and historical context of the period, which is taken into consideration in the process of research. The objective is to provide coherent and concise depiction of the problematic part of Slovak literary history that was formed by specific sociopolitical situation. It is this detailed knowledge of the context that clarifies a certain degree of paradox and at the same time a degree of specificity of the poetesses selected. The main chapter that follows is called 'Poetesses with own angle of vision'. The author outlines circumstances of the last century which the female authors faced whilst breaking through in literature.
