The influence of water stress on selected grass species and sward botanical composition
PAVELOVÁ, Lenka
The main goal of this thesis is to ascertain the influence of a water stress on regenerative and growth properties of grasses which were exposed to a water deficit and the influence on area composition of certain permanent grass vegetation. Assessment levels were based on container experiments. Each container contained selected class and subclass of a grass with different water regime demands. The aim of these experiments was to determine regenerative and growth abilities of chosen grasses which were exposed to water deficit and their ability to regenerate after drought during the grass branching phase. Another part of these experiments was to assess water regime impact on distribution of grasses in chosen areas. In the Czech Republic, grass vegetation is one of the basic food components for farm animals, mainly cattle, and it is an important landscaping element. It is also a component of forage industry which is a significant part of an agriculture output and the main goal in practice is to provide sufficient production of high quality, biologically valuable and healthy fodder.
The comparison of selected plant cultures as different energy resources
PAVELOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis was made by form of literature retrieval, eventually added of any tables and graphic design of acquired data and own commentary (discussion) to the literature details. The aim of the work will assess the suitability of selected crops for cultivation in energy use with respekt to growing thein technology and assess the suitability of biomass for different wals of processing and energy recovery. A brief outline of the economic, ecological and economic importace of the topic. In the second chapter of literature review are provided information about renewable energy sources, what the renewable energy resources are, their significance and use. The chapter also discusses the importance and use of biomass as energy source, characteristic of various types of biomass and finally is mentioned the future of biomass. In the third chapter ?Selection and cultivation of plants for energy recovery? summarizes the information about selected woody and non-woody crops characteristic for energy use. It is these crops - grains, maize, fast growing woody plants, monocultures of grass, clover mixture, monoculture legumes, herbs, permanent grassland: the productive and out of productive importance. For individual crops are processed: general characteristics of plants, botanical classification, requirements for habitat, agricultural engineering, harvesting and post harvest treatment. Below are listed possibilities of production and outlined the use of crops for energy purposes. The fourth chapter deals with the ways of using biomass for energy purposes. By using wood, straw and energy crops for direct combustion of biomass to produce biogas and other forms of exploitation. Finally in the fifth chapter is a summary of key findings and recommendations resulting from studying issue, extended tables and graphical processing.
