Relation of Debt Relief to Social and Military Expenditures: Empirical Evidence

This work focuses on the relationship between sovereign debt relief on one side and government expenditure on healthcare, education, and armed forces on the other side. Each effect is estimated separately using two dynamic panel data methods: Arellano-Bond Difference GMM and Arellano-Bover/Blundell-Bond System GMM. I use three subsets of a dataframe that contains 114 recipients of post-1991 debt relief. The health spending analysis was performed on 110 countries observed in the period of 1995 to 2017; the education expenditure equation was estimated using data on 104 countries from the period 1991 to 2018; and the military spending subset contains data on 103 countries also observed between 1991 and 2018. I found a statistically significant negative effect of debt relief on military expen- diture and a significant positive effect of debt relief on education spending. The latter was, however, sensitive to the choice of estimation method. The effect on health expenditure is unclear. 1
Printed Books vs eBooks: What, Why and How Does Generation Y Read?

The aim of the thesis 'Printed Books vs. eBooks: What, Why and How Does Generation Y Read?' is to uncover what motivates a group of young people, specifically twenty students attending universities based in Prague, to choose either printed or electronic books. Furthermore, while using the qualitative method of semi-structured interview it was also the aim of this thesis not only to describe and analyse how important are the social aspects of books as well as the ways of acquiring them, but similarly to get a better understanding of how Generation Y perceives books. For this reason the conducted research could be beneficial to an academic area of interest, while correspondingly valuable for publishers, bookshops or e-reader manufacturers and their marketing strategies. Practical research is built upon a relevant theoretical basis: history of reading, characterization of printed and electronic books, together with a Czech book market summary and an introduction of Generation Y. In addition, the fourth chapter presents methods used when conducting the research, particularly Grounded Theory. However, the results of this research and their interpretations are presented in the final chapter along with respondents' descriptions, research goals and the course of interviews. Comparison of Brand Building of Lev Praha and Slovan Bratislava in 2012-2014

The bachelor thesis entitled "Comparison of Brand Building of Lev Praha and Slovan Bratislava in 2012-2014" describes and compares two hockey brands which participated in the Kontinental Hockey League within delineated period of time. The aim of the thesis is a comparison of two sports brands based on theoretical and practical findings. Furthermore, I would like to highlight both similar and different aspects of the aforementioned brands. In the theoretical part, the thesis presents basics of marketing and its tools, sport marketing and brand building. In addition, the profile of the Kontinental Hockey League is included due to participation of both clubs and also in order to clarify the broader context with the impact on brands. The practical part commences with an analysis of Lev Praha and then continues with Slovan Bratislava. Internal club resources, news portals and online sources were used so as to analyse these brands. The thesis describes in detail their history and identity, as well as their target groups and brand elements. Moreover, I also analyse the brand building process including information about the market and main competitors, the current state of brand and CSR activities.
