Arterial Puncture Simulator

The topic of this smestral thesis is to design arterial puncture simulator, which could be used as a device for teaching first aid. At first there are presented and described simulators available on the market. Followed by the analysis of individual components that were selected for the construction of the simulator. The control unit, which switches the bistable valve is realized by Arduino. Liquid jetting is facilitated by expansion container. The result of this thesis is design and testing of components of prototype arterial puncture simulator.

First it focuses on general theory of antennas, than it focuses more on horn antennas and their design. Second part deals with description of antenna realization and comparison of simulated results.
Comparison of the Approach to Human Trafficking for the Purpose of Sexual Exploitation in the Czech and Slovak Republics

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of sex trafficking in the Czech and Slovak Republics from the division of Czechoslovakia to the present. The aim of the thesis is to compare the development of both republics in the fight against this crime and emphasize the differences in their approaches to this issue. The thesis analyzes the main actors dealing with sex trafficking in both republics, namely the state sector and the non-profit sector. It examines how the policy regarding human trafficking operates in these republics and the level of cooperation between the non-profit sector and the state sector. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the theory of comparison and various comparative approaches used to compare both republics. It also addresses problematic factors that may influence the results of the comparison. The practical part of the thesis employs a mixed-method approach and gathers data through semi-structured interviews with experts on the subject. The research has shown that there are significant differences between the two republics. The main difference lies in the relationship between the ministry and the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, which subsequently influences the state of laws and policies in these areas. Students' creativity in designing own simple experiments in biology lessons

The aim of the diploma thesis, was to design the inquiry biology task, in which pupils could develop their imagination and creativity, and design their own experiment. For this purpose, a task has been proposed to verify the water needs of a plant, and the ways in which it goes trough the body of the plant. Required data were obtained using a didactic test focused on the single steps characteristic for inquiry based tasks. Another aim was to create a coding tool, used to identify differences between solution of individual pupils. Therefore a simple coding tool has been devised to identify and assess the level of creativity. The research took place at a primary school in České Budějovice. Pupils from three classes of the seventh grade were included in the survey, and a total of 53 pupils participated. The results showed that the overall success of pupils in didactic test was 47,37 %, and from the perspective of creativity itself an avarage value of 37,37 % was found. In terms of creativity pupils in this research had the highest success in the originality of designing the experiment without knowledge of tools, as well as in the elaboration of the experimental design with knowledge of tools. Pupils also achieved a relatively good results in elaboration of drawing the experiment without the knowledge of tools. On the other hand a very low success rate of pupils was found in the ability to propose further solutions to the problem, both in terms of originality and elaboration. The reason for these results could be the difficulty of completing a didactic test in which a guided type of inquiry was used, with which some pupils may not have had much experience. It was comfirmed by interviews with teachers that they involve the elements of inquiry and creative teaching rather irregularly.

Students' inquiry skills in biology lessons at selected schools in Ceske Budejovice and surroundings

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to ascertain the level of pupils' inquiry skills during biology lessons at selected grammar schools and secondary schools in České Budějovice. The data was obtained using a didactic test focused on the individual steps characteristic for the inquiry based tasks. A partial objective was to perform questionnaire survey with biology teachers. The questionnaire was focused mainly on the teachers' experience with inquiry based education and also served for comparison of pupils' responses and their teachers' responses. The survey was carried out at four selected grammar schools and one secondary school in České Budějovice. There were involved students from all study programmes (four-year, upper cycle of six-year and eight-year grammar school) in the survey. In total 451 pupils participated in this study. The results showed that pupils achieved average results in a didactic test focused on inquiry skills. In this survey, pupils had the highest successful in their content knowledge in relation to the inquiry activity. The pupils also achieved relatively good results in terms of interpreting the data. However a below-average result was found in the pupils' ability to formulate their hypothesis and explain scientific phenomena. Pupils also had difficulties with evaluating and designing natural science research and with deducing conclusion. The cause of these results may be the lower rate of implementing the inquiry tasks in teaching, which was confirmed in the questionnaires obtained from the selected biology teachers, who stated that although these tasks take part in the teaching, they include them rather sporadically because these tasks are time-consuming and the preparation and realization of them are usually difficult.

Monitoring of vegetative regeneration of meadow plant species after mowing: quantitative phenology of selected species from spring to autumn

The thesis is about the timing of phenophases of species. Research was carried out on two contrasted meadows (wet and dry). Meadows were situated in localities Ohraze-ní and Bílé Karpaty. The aim was obseved the timing of phenophases in mown and unmown parts of meadows. And how mowing affect growth of species during the season. The next aim was monitored grow shoot biomass before and after mowing.
