Mandous, Lubomír ; REJLEK, Vladimír (advisor) ; ROUČEK, Jaroslav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the history of the Primary Music School of Jindřich Jindřich in Cheb in the years 1918-1990. Using mainly German written archive sources maps how the school worked between the First World War and the Second World War and also during the Second World War, when the Cheb region became part of the Nazi German. With the information from the chronicles the thesis tries to reconstruct the history of the music school after the Second World War - after the transfer of the German population, the Czech music school was the only music education institute in Cheb, which was later called the Folk Music School of Jindřich Jindřich. The thesis focuses on the operation of this educational organization from various points of view. Apart from the development of the number of students and teachers it pays also attention to the problems (e.g. space, finance, etc.) which they had to deal with in this period of time.

Mandous, Lubomír ; REJLEK, Vladimír (advisor) ; ROUČEK, Jaroslav (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the course of musical career of a well known pianist, composer, and educator, Pavel Větrovec. The thesis is mainly based on interviews with this significant figure of Czech and Czechoslovak musical scene and the text is accompanied by a rich photographic material. The work records Větrovec's musical development since early childhood to the present when, however, he suppresses his work activities significantly, compared to earlier times. The thesis is divided into six chapters which are presented in a chronological order. Větrovec's first experience in orchestral play was followed by military service and his first employment, namely in Dům kultury in Ústí nad Labem. A substantial career advancement follows, namely his move to Prague and an engagement in the Semafor theatre. After hard beginnings at the Prague musical scene, Pavel Větrovec gains valuable contacts, joins various musical projects, and gradually enters collaboration with a number of Czech musical scene personalities. His educational work at The Prague Conservatoire is remembered as well.
