Rostliny a jejich používání v interiérech budov na přelomu 19. a 20. století

This thesis is focused on growing houseplants in building interiors in the historical context, especially of second half of the 19th and first half of the 20th century. In the first part of this thesis are processed information on basis of knowledge gained by studying expert Czech and foreign literature concerning the architecture of the buildings in the selected period, primarily focused on the architecture of villas and the development of growing plants in interiors. One of the partial objectives is to summarize knowledge about important factors influencing the growth of the plants, which includes mainly light, air, temperature and water. There is also briefly mentioned the way of growing and fertilizing houseplants and variety of the plants.In the second part of this thesis is processed the range of plants which is suitable for growing plants indoors in the selected period. There is a partial part including the research of the villas whose construction was taking place in the selected period. The selected buildings for this research are situated in Brno. On basis of gained information about using interiors of the villas and possible plant cultivation is elaborated a list of grown plants in the villas. The determination of range of plants is based on watching historical films. After analysis of the particular villas has been chosen one object as a model example. The model example is processed as a proposal of planting plants solution in interior.
