Present Swedish - Russian relations in context of intrusions of Swedish territory

The main topic of this Bachelor thesis are mutual relations between the Swedish Kingdom and the Russian Federation. These relations are being analysed with respect to historical experience. The concept of learning in international relations is used as a theoretical part of the research. The primary aim of this thesis is to critically assess the Swedish - Russian relations focusing on intrusions of Swedish territory over the last few years (esp. the territorial waters by submarines and the airspace by jet planes) which already appeared at the beginning of the cold war as a shaping feature of present relations between these two countries. In conclusion, the thesis says that the historical events (i.e. recent submarine-incidents in Swedish waters) have led to even bigger mistrust and negative perception of Russia.
Evaluating the success of states' penetration into UN structures

The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the success of penetration of selected states into selected UN structures. The analysis will be based on fifteen countries comparable to the Czech Republic according to population, GDP and Human Development Index. The success of the penetration will be monitored in three main UN bodies: Security Council, International Court of Justice and the Economic and Social Council, and one subsidiary body: Human Rights Council.
Agricultural sanctions as a tool of foreign policy of the Russian federation

The goal of the thesis is to examine a sanction strategy of Russia by so called sanitary measures, which are used in cases, when announcement of official sanctions is not appropriate for some reason. The strategy is analysed with the help of eight cases in eight countries during the last fifteen years. For these cases, known as trade wars, their development, official and unofficial reasons, political and economic results for both sides are indicated.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the concept of creating shared value, as an instrument of self-regulation by transnational corporations, with particular emphasis on respect for human rights. Specifically, this thesis studies the case of practical application of this concept at Nestlé. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate, whether the concept is an effective instrument of self-regulation by transnational corporations. The theoretical section analyses the concept of creating shared value, including the theoretical definition of the practical application of this concept. The empirical section focuses on the practical application of the concept at Nestlé, and consequential evaluation of the effectivity of the concept. In order to objectively evaluate the effectivity of the concept, this thesis is based on materials from both Nestlé and independent organizations, which inspect the real impacts of this concept in practice.
The relashionship of China and Israel in context of arms and technology transfers

This thesis is focused on the bilateral relationship between The People's Republic of China and the State Israel. The aim of this thesis is to answer the question how arms and technology transfers influence this relationship. This question will be answered at the background of the two cancelled contracts of supply of the military material to China, specifically AWACS Phalcon and modernization of Harpy drones. It has been established after the analysis that the cancellation of the contracts led to short-term cooling of the relationship between both states. One of the outcomes of this incident was also the discontinuation of all arms transfers to China from Israel.

The purpose of this thesis will be to identify the failures and shortcomings of the US intelligence community which allowed the 9/11 terrorist attacks to take place, and analyze whether the subsequent Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 managed to address them appropriately. The paper will examine the development of intelligence practices in the USA, focusing on the failures that occurred before and during 9/11, and analyze the appositeness of the 2004 reform for fixing these failures and improving counter-terrorism measures in the US and internationally. Towards the end, it should provide answers to the following questions: Was the IRTPA a suitable response to 9/11? How did it affect the American intelligence community?
Discussion on US sanctions against Cuba at the U.N. General Assembly

The United States imposed the longest lasting sanction regime on Cuba in 1960 as a result of strained relations in recent years. Each US administration modified form of the sanctions regime, depending on the attitude toward the Cuban issue. General Assembly, the highest authority of the UN, adopts not legally binding but politically significant resolutions. Resolution condemning US sanctions regime has been adopted annually since 1992. Discussion on changes of the sanction regime in the General Assembly is a sign of reflection on current events and unrigid process of resolutions adoption. The main purpose is to determine whether the changes of the sanction regime were mentioned in the discussions on the adoption of the resolutions. The result of the analysis shows the reflection of the events in the speeches of ambassadors. The amount of mentioned events in speeches depends whether they were positive or negative step toward easing the embargo, and also how important the event was.

This bachelor thesis called Economic diplomacy - the network of foreign actors addresses on its pages the topic of economic diplomacy and its conduct by two European countries, by the Czech Republic and Belgium. The aim of this thesis is to firstly analyse and then to compare Czech and Belgian economic diplomacy by the characteristics defined in the theoretical part of this work. These characteristics are: model and type of the conduct of economic diplomacy, elements of economic diplomacy (strategy, actors, instruments) and finally foreign network of actors.
The possibilities and limits of human rights support in DPRK in the 21st century - the bilateral role of the USA

This bachelor thesis focuses on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the 21st century. The aim of the thesis is to define the main limits and possibilities of human rights support in the DPRK; main focus is put on the bilateral role of the United States of America. The USA has been active on the Korean Peninsula for more than sixty years and their activities are also connected to the human rights situation. The thesis discusses activities of American foreign policy that are meant for the human rights support in DPRK and their limits. These activities include legislative measures, economic sanctions and food support.
