Reconstruction of Captured Communication on iOS Platform
Letavay, Viliam ; Kmeť, Martin (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
These days our mobile devices along with social networks are giving us an opportunity to be in touch with our friends and family at any time. Howerver they could be also used for criminal activity. This thesis therefore deals with reconstruction of communication of the iOS applications Google Hangouts, Twitter and Facebook Messenger for use of forensics analysis with the main focus on an abillity to recover their chat communication. Later it also deals with the implementation of Netfox Detective tool extensions, allowing the reconstruction of this communication.
Smart Home Open-Source Components
Kúšik, Lukáš ; Letavay, Viliam (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to examine the state-of-the-art commercial elements found in smart home households. Their freely available alternatives are explored, together with three open-source home automation platforms. We review freely available microcontroller development kits, usable for the development of smart sensors. After that, using a suitable combination of electronic components and microcontrollers, components are designed and implemented for our own smart home system, utilizing the Home Assistant platform. This incorporates a built-in redundancy, designed to withstand cases of a failure of any component. The developed tool uses container orchestration technology, real-time file synchronization and automatically configured database clusters, to achieve a unique and comprehensive solution to high availability of Home Assistant.
Prototype of Intrusion Solution for Mobile Networks
Tie zahrňujú zarušenie spojenia, Zníženie kvality služieb, Denial of Service, Sledovanie polohy, IMSI catcher.
Distributed Network Traffic Processing
Letavay, Viliam ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
Expansion of computer networks and availability of internet connection enables our society to grow faster then ever before. However, at the same time it opens up a new opportunuties for a cybercrime activities. That's why there is an increasing need of security administrators and law enforcing agencies for existence of a tools to analyze the captured data flows. This master thesis deals with ways of analysis of captured network traffic in a distributed environment, which would allow scaling of available analysis power and therefore adapt to ever increasing volumes of data transmitted over the computer networks.
How to Make the Smart Home Using Open-Source IoT?
Blaha, Radim ; Letavay, Viliam (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is analysis of commercial and open-source home automation market, results of this research were used to create custom solution based on open-source parts and software. The solution includes design of sockets and lights infrastructures and their automation, as well as design of network infrastructure. It also includes design and implementation of three components assembled from subcomponents and their integration into a selected home automation platform. These components are used for window control, garage door control and temperature measurement. Designed solution is further evaluated and compared to commercial solutions.
MITM Attack Automation Using Single-Board Solution
Podlesný, Šimon ; Letavay, Viliam (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
Thesis is focused on design of MiTM attack with use of modern approaches in IT infrastructure. Especially it's focused on how to simplify configuration of single-board computer for penetration testing purposes by creating scalable infrastructure for device configuration and control. Proposed solution allows the usage of complicated attacks by trained staff while not limiting users with experience in network security. While today, applications capable of MiTM attacks are monolithic and device-centric, proposed solution considers the device providing MiTM just as one part of the solution and also focuses on other problems like data exfiltration or hash cracking.
Room Presence Detection in the Smart Home
Průdek, David ; Letavay, Viliam (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement presence detection sensor which works with home automation. I focused on sensor implementation which needs for activity only available wearable electronics. Sensor placed in room can detect other devices and based on signal intensity it determines his location. For this case I chose Bletooth LE which is used to be implemented in the most of wearable electronics and recently new utilization of BLE was found for indoor navigation. Using this sensor for automation is ensured by system Home Assistant. Main benefit of this project is simply and cheap extend home automation capabilities for person detection in rooms, not only detection in large areas which offers GPS and Wi-Fi systems.
Power Efficient Smart Home IoT Network and Sensors
Chmelařová, Gabriela ; Letavay, Viliam (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with finding a suitable solution for the construction of energy saving IoT sensors for home network. The solution deals with design and construction of devices operated on batteries in order to ensure their long-term service. The text includes  an overview of technologies enabling implementation of power efficient sensors. Furthermore, the thesis describes the design and construction of energy-saving devices and topologies. The last part deals with sensor optimization for energy saving, overview of measured values and comparison of achieved results.
