The presented final thesis is intended to the problematic of extremely immature newborns. The thesis is formally split to two main parts. The first part is focused on theoretical description of immature newborns while the second part is dedicated to the practical research and investigation. There is described the history of the development in the neonatology domain, newborns classification and contemporary possibility of immature newborns treatment in the theoretical part. There is concern with the problems which can be introduced by the rescuing of immature newborns and also impacts of such rescuing to the rescued, assisted nurse and possibly human society. The practical part has is intended to the research and investigation. The investigation is accomplished on the department of intensive and resuscitation care and two departments of physiological newborns on Gynecological-maternal hospital which is part of General facultative hospital of Prague. The research and investigation has been focused towards nurse's attitude to the viability edge of immature newborns. There are seen the basic problems in the unknowingness of the viability limit from the nurses' point of view.
