The geophysical survey on archaeological locality on the Malý Blaník hill
Málková, Kamila ; Dohnal, Jiří (advisor) ; Kněz, Jaroslav (referee)
Summary: The bachelor's work consists of two parts. The contents of the first one is the detailed background research of existing information about the archaeological locality on the Malý Blaník hill (geology, petrophysics, history, archaeology and other), supplemented by analysis of prospecting potentiality of different geophysical methods. The core of the second part is the areal geophysical survey of the mentioned locality by means of selected geophysical methods (geoelectrical and magnetometric methods). The contents of this part includes the field measurement, data processing and complex interpretation of the results.
Magnetic susceptibility survey within the archaeological prospection
Lázničková, Eva ; Dohnal, Jiří (advisor) ; Kněz, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Magnetic susceptibility survey within the archaeological prospection Author: Eva Laznickova Department: Institute of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Applied Geophysics Supervisor: PhDr. RNDr. Jiri Dohnal The work is focused on the use of magnetic susceptibility measurement in archaeological prospection and consists of two interconnected parts. The core of the first one is the background research including basic theoretical and practical knowledge of magnetic susceptibility measurement, with an emphasis on field prospecting and the application of this method in archaeological research. The theme of the second part comprises the areal geophysical survey of the segment of the Hussite siege camp by Novy hrad u Kunratic realized by means of magnetic susceptibility measurement and other selected geophysical methods (magnetometry, conductometry). The contents of this part includes the field measurement, data processing and complex interpretation of the results in connection with all other available information.
Geophysical Survey in Vinicity of the Church Stětí sv. Jana Křtitele in Dolní Chabry
Buneš, Josef ; Dohnal, Jiří (advisor) ; Kněz, Jaroslav (referee)
v Abstract The diploma thesis "Geophysical survey of the surroundings of the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist in Dolní Chabry" describes the realized geophysical measurements at an important archaeological locality and interprets its results. The locality is approached from the historical, geographical and geological point of view. There are described physical properties of rocks, basic principles of geophysical methods used and methodology of field work and data processing. Finally, the measurement results are interpreted. The following methods were used for the research: symmetric resistivity profiling, dipole electromagnetic profiling, electrical resistivity tomography and seismic rafraction. Several anomalies corresponding to already known objects were identified and localized in the locality, another part of captured anomalies corresponds to previously unknown buried archaeological objects. Keywords: archeology, geophysics, archeogeophysics, Dolní Chabry, Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist
Joint interpretations of geophysical measurements as the key to understand landscape evolution
Tábořík, Petr ; Fischer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kněz, Jaroslav (referee) ; Putiška, René (referee)
Užitá geofyzika představuje rychlý, efektivní a nedestruktivní způsob získávání informací o složení a stavu horninového prostředí, jakož i o studovaných geologických či geomorfologických procesech.

Geophysical methods for localization and exploration of deserted medieval villages
Vošvrdová, Eliška ; Dohnal, Jiří (advisor) ; Kněz, Jaroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with geophysical methods used for localization and exploration of deserted medieval villages. It's comprised of two closely related parts: theoretical and practical. First of which, the thesis reviews the current knowledge about deserted medieval villages, how to locate them and describes practical application of selected geophysical methods such as magnetometry, geoelectrical resistivity survey (symmetric resistivity profiling, electrical resistivity tomography) and electromagnetic (ground penetrating radar, dipole electromagnetic profiling). In addition to the explanation of basic principles and practical use of the methods in archaeological prospection, this part of the thesis presents particular examples of structures and objects that are being sought around the areas of deserted medieval villages. The second part is experimental and its main aim is to describe geophysical research of a selected area called Štítary u Městce Králové. The primary purpose of research was to localize relicts of deserted medieval village. This part of the thesis examines the preparation proces, implementation of the terrain measurment, the data processing and, most importantly, the interpretation of the final results. Key words: archaeology, deserted medieval villages, geophysical methods,...
