Surface treatment of roll bearings
Kubelka, Milan ; Klakurková, Lenka (referee) ; Švejcar, Jiří (advisor)
The bearings are one of the most widely used construction components enabling mutual movement of parts and at the same time transmission of interacting load. The basic requirements placed on components of roll bearings are particulary increase of contact fatigue resistance, decrease of the friction coefficient between the rolling bodies and bearing rings, increase of hardness and abrasion resistance of functional surfaces, the wear resistance, corrosion protection and finally the electrical and optical properties too. As production of bearings from materials with these attributes would be quite expensive, surface modifications are used for improving the mechanical properties. The main task of this bachelor thesis is description and evaluation of technologies suitable for surface treatment of roll bearings with increased attention to those types of surface treatment which, in cooperation with SVÚM will be studied in more detail in the experimental part of this work (especially polymer coatings, phosphate films and DLC - type coatings). The wear evaluation of different types of coatings was performed with the aid of scanning electron microscopy after the tribological testing.

Vraspírová, Eva ; Klakurková, Lenka (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with problems of materials, which are used to production of hand tools and implements. The theoretical part is focused on tool steels, their mechanical and technological characteristics and to their heat processing. Below there are well-arranged and described surface modification, which are applied to materials nowadays. The next part is focused on modern technology of surface modification, which are applied to hand tools. The research is mainly focused on technology of production of bits by company Wera Werk Ltd, which is deal with production and distribution of hand tightening tools, such as screwdrivers, angular keys, plug keys, bits and torque tools. Attention is also paid to technology of surface modification, e.g. based on zinc phosphate, nickel, nickel-gold and nickel-diamond-gold, used for these tools and to problems of painting. To elements interaction study light microscopy, the hardness measurement by Vickers and Brinell and scanning electron microscopy equipped by energy dispersive microanalyses.
Corrosive Degradation of Austenitic Steels
Vykoukalová, Tereza ; Juliš, Martin (referee) ; Klakurková, Lenka (advisor)
The main requirement imposed on stainless steel is a high corrosion resistance in aggressive environment. The main aim of the thesis is a numerous group of corrosion resistance stainless steels, i.e. the stainless steel with austenitic matrix. Increased attention is paid to the corrosive attack and corrosion rate of three chosen materials with austenitic matrix in four different corrosive environments (30% solutions of sulphuric acid, nitric acid, acetin acid and sodium chloride). The method of light microscopy was used to study corrosive degradation of different materials.
Carbon Based Materials
Hrazdíra, Matěj ; Čelko, Ladislav (referee) ; Klakurková, Lenka (advisor)
The proposed bachelor thesis deals with carbon based materials. First of all, an overview of its allotropic modifications including newly discovered forms, conditions of their existence and also their basic properties is shown. Further the extraction of carbon materials is briefly introduced. In the next chapters, forms of carbon are classified and particularly described individually with respect to manufacturing technologies and further applications. Individual chapters are dedicated to synthetic carbon and graphite, carbon fibers and carbon fiber reinforced composites. Manufacturing processes of synthetic carbon and graphite, involving possible precursors, are described in detail together with their use in various engineering applications. The following part is dedicated to carbon fibers, in particular to the manufacturing process based on the precursor used including surface treatment and sizing. Additionally the use of virgin carbon fibers is also described. The last part is focused on carbon fiber reinforced composites. Firstly possible distributions of carbon fibers in a matrix are described. Then the technology of manufacturing, properties and use of single composites according to the matrix material are expounded.
The metal biocompatible materials and their use
Klusák, Ondřej ; Čelko, Ladislav (referee) ; Klakurková, Lenka (advisor)
The aim of proposed bachelor thesis is in a form of a literature search to create an overview of materials for medical application. The thesis is focused in detail primarily on selected groups of (inter)metallic biocompatible materials like nitinol, titanium (Ti), titanium alloys and cobalt based alloys. The explanation of term Biocompatibility and separation of the materials according to their biological tolerance is included in thesis introduction and next several chapters. This thesis provide various information both about historical and current development, the manufacture processes, chemical compositions, mechanical properties and the most common applications of these materials. One of the major aims of this work is to outline an expected future development of biocompatible materials and to introduce new trends. This thesis is written and can be dedicated not only for specialists but also for students interested in the topic of metallic biocompatible materials.

Research and development of surface modifications of bearing steels by means of ion nitridation
Klimčáková, Kateřina ; Klakurková, Lenka (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Basic requirements placed on rolling bearing components include the high fatigue limit, the wear resistance and the corrosion resistance. As full production of bearings from materials with these attributes would be quite expensive, surface modifications are used to improve mechanical characteristics. This thesis deals with application of layers to the bearing steel by means of ion nitridation. It studies effects of input conditions of the ion nitridation and of the surface condition on tribological characteristics of the bearing steel with the above mentioned finishing. The study employed the interaction light microscopy, the scanning electron microscopy equipped by energy dispersive chemical microanalysis, the hardness measurement by Vickers, the glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy, and methods of the phase analysis by means of the X-ray diffraction were used.
Optimalization of Temperature for Semi-hot Forming of Roll Bearings
Hrouzková, Andrea ; Klakurková, Lenka (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis solve the problems about optimalization of temperature for semi-hot forming of roll bearings steels. The purpose of this thesis is finding the optimal interval of temperatures, in which 100CrMnSi6-4 bearing steel shows good strain and deformation characteristics after forming. Methods for data evaluation of mechanical properties are the tensile and upsetting tests which were performed on higher temperatures. It was microscoped microstructure changes of the bearing steel 100CrMnSi6-4 during temperature influence and classification with the light microscope.
