Preparation and Characterisation of Polyelectrolyte Complexes in the System Dextran-Surfactant
Klímová, Eliška ; Krouská, Jitka (referee) ; Kalina, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the study on preparation and characterization of the polyelectrolyte complex formation in the dextran-surfactant system. The aim of the thesis was the investigation of the influence of the ionic strenght on the formation of the interactions in the studied system. For these purposes, components having opposite charges (DEAE-dextran hydrochloride and anion-active sodium dodecyl sulphate) were selected. For individual measurements mainly the methods of light scattering, dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering in particular, have been used. In the thesis have been studied interactions and aggregation concentrations of individual components having the potential to form polyelectrolyte complexes. It was verified in all the studied samples, by measuring the intensity of scattered light and the size of Z-diameter of particles, that the increase in sizes of particles is caused by the formation of these complexes. There were also measured additional characteristicts of the system such as pH or conductivity. Their dependences provide comprehensive view on the formation of complexes in studied system and can be utilized for other measurements and possible future applications, especially for purposes in medical applications.
Mechanical and Transport Properties of Hybrid Hydrogel Systems
Klímová, Eliška ; Sedláček, Petr (referee) ; Kalina, Michal (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the study on mechanical and transport properties of hybrid hydrogel systems. Considering applications of hydrogels, especially in chemical industry, pharmacy, or eventually medical applications, for the study gellan and alginate-based hydrogels were selected. In order to compare individual characteristics physical and hybrid hydrogels were prepared. Gellan hydrogels were prepared in deionization aqua solution, calcium chloride dihydrate and tween 80 solution. Alginate hydrogels were prepared in calcium chloride dihydrate solution as well, and polyacrylamide with N,N´–methylenbisacrylamide. For the study of mechanical properties moisture analyser and rheology measurements were selected. Transport properties were studied using the diffusion experiments combined with UV-VIS spectroscopic detection. Concluding of this thesis is summarization of measured values, which provides comprehensive review of the problematics. It was discovered that the conveniently selected concentrations of structural components of hydrogel matrix and the additives can influence both the mechanical as well as the transport properties of studied hydrogels.

What does it mean be Gipsy in our society
KLÍMOVÁ, Eliška
My Thesis is aimed at the life of the Romanies in Czech society. The topic was chosen intentionally as relations between the Roma minority and the members of the major society belongs to current topics, and although the Romanies have already been living at our territory for several centuries they still remain unknown for most of the inhabitants. The aim of the Thesis was particularly to collect information on how the Romanies themselves perceive thein life in our society and to open discussion about different topics then e.g. crime or poverty. The scope was influenced by my owen work with Romay people and the isme is really familiar to me. The Thesis is dividend into two parts. The theoretical part describes the history of the Romanies, thein present situation in the Czech republic and deals with topics like racism and extremism. The practical part is based on qualitive and quantitative research. The first part interprets data obtained within a field research in selected location of České Budějovice. The research was performed in the formo f semi-controlled interview in May and June. The sekond part is based on the technice of content analysis of a primary document. A Romany magazíne Romano hangos was chosen for the purpose of the research. The selection set of my analysis consists of all the 2008 issues of Romano hangos magazíne. An article is the basic selection unit. To qualify for inclusion into the content analysis an article had to contain communication of how the Romanies perceive thein life in our society. The research results confirm that Romanies still feel like foreigners in our society.
The possibilities of cooperation with family of senior of residental services.
KLÍMOVÁ, Eliška
The main subject of my bachelor{\crq}s paper is the possibilities of cooperation with the family of a senior living in a residential institution. In the theoretical part I defined particular terms. I focused on seniors and their role in society, on the seniors`relationship to their families, and I tried to outline the problems relating to a senior{\crq}s admission to the residential institution. In the practical part I focused on the possibilities of cooperation between the residential institution and the seniors` families by means of quantity research. The study was carried out in the district of Hradec Králové and the research team was made up of the health and social personnel of the selected residential institutions. The results of the research confirm that residential institutions are aware of the fact that although the relations in the institutions can be close to the family connections, the number of people who seniors meet every day is limited. Therefore they try to form optimal conditions for the client to keep on being in touch with his own family, ideally, to involve his family members in the daily life of the institution. For study was determinates the hypothesis, body of hypothesis is: The residential institution consider to involve family members in the daily life of the institution for more useful for comprehensive care for senior than individual contact with family members and senior. This hypothesis was order by study, because most of informants stated in the questionnaire, that for comprehensive care for senior is more useful individual contact with family members and senior.
