Possibities to increase the frost resistance of brick body
Keršner, Štěpán ; Šveda,, Mikuláš (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This thesis, which comprises of a theoretical and a practical part, deals with possible means of increasing ceramic body frost resistance. The current state of research in the field of ceramic body frost resistance is summarized in the theoretical part. The practical part is divided into two sections. In the first section, the influence of firing temperature (820 °C and 1020 °C) and duration (2, 4 and 6 hours) on frost resistance and several other parameters is assessed by means of experiment, using a specimen of brick body made of mixes currently used in roof tile production by TONDACH Šlapanice and TONDACH Dolní Jirčany factories. In the second section of the practical part, two modifications are introduced of the mixture currently used in roof tile production in the TONDACH Šlapanice factory – GE clay and zeolite supplements were added, the effects of which are verified by means of experiment using specimens fired in a kiln designated for ceramic masonry blocks and alternatively in a kiln used for firing TONDACH Šlapanice roof tiles.
The Effect of Nanofibres Dispergation on the Properties of Sintered Ceramic Body
Němec, Tomáš ; Keršner, Štěpán (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The main goal of this diploma´s thesis is to review final qualities of traditional porcelain body with using nanofibers. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the current knowledge of the research on ceramic composite with using nanofibers. The vast majority of these researches is engaged by reinforcing technical ceramics, on the other hand area of traditional porcelain is still unexplored area. Besides that there are shown technological ways of the production and dispersion of the most important types of nanofibers. In the practical part of this thesis is experimentaly defined the most effecient way of homogenization procedure and the most effecient dose of nanofibers for pure kaolin body. In conclusion are compared the resulting properties of traditional porcelain body with using Al2O3 and SiO2 nanofibers.
Determination of frost resistance of brick bodies
Keršner, Štěpán ; Skotal, Zbyněk (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the summarization and description of contemporary frost resistance of brick bodies testing methods and methodology of assessing objectively the destruction of brick bodies during freeze-thaw cycles, using ultrasound.
The Combustion of Organic Lightweighting Agents in the Chamotte Materials
Smékalová, Veronika ; Keršner, Štěpán (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Lightweight chamotte products are popular building material. There are many types of lightweight chamotte on the market, but the most popular lightening options are organic ingredients. This brings some problems to the production of these products. This thesis deals with the burning of various types of lighters from shards of fireclay materials. In the theoretical part are summarized raw materials, which are necessary for production of lightweight chamotte. The results of the published research studies on the topic of lightening of organic lightening products are being described here. The practical part deals with properties of products made of clay or kaolin with the addition of a certain amount of lighter. These added lighters are spruce sawdust, beech sawdust, peat, bran, paper slurry and anthracite. All these lighters are direct. For comparison, the cenospheres, which represent indirect lightweights, were also included in the research. For all specimens, the temperature interval of burnout of specimens, refractoriness, classification temperature, bulk density, thermal conductivity coefficient and other properties were defined.
The Effect of Microspheres on the Properties of Insulating Chamotte
Majerová, Jana ; Keršner, Štěpán (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is focused on the influence of different kind of microspheres on properties of insulating chamotte. The theoretical part resumes the knowledge about chamotte and microspheres, which are available on domestic market. The practical part is focused on comparing different kinds of microspheres and their influence on chosen properties of insulating chamotte.
Determination of Vuppor admixture for the refractory light weighting bodies
Svobodová, Markéta ; Keršner, Štěpán (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Lightweight refractory products are materials used for the construction of certain parts of industrial furnaces, especially for iron, but also in other sectors where is operated with high temperatures. There are special requests on refractories. The theoretical part contains an overview of used raw materials, production and properties of lightweight refractory products and description of not burnable lightener - chemical additives VUPPOR I and information about previously conducted trials dealing with these topics. The practical part is divided into four parts, which are evaluated by tests which were performed on a refractory clay with chemical additive Vuppor I (samples are lightened and not lightened) - it was primarily a test of sensitivity to drying, density, compressive strength, thermal insulating properties, etc.
