The influence of Pilates on spinal disc herniation
JURÁSKOVÁ, Alena
Today´s world leads to the degenerative processes which consequently contribute to the high number of patients suffering from the spinal disc herniation. Pilates enables to improve the appropriate postural habits which is done by the strengthening of the deep stabilizing system. This system may later either completely eliminate or substantially reduce the backache. Pilates could be perceived as a prevention for those who wish to compensate for their poor lifestyle. It has turned out that an exercise focused on the entire body image brings better results than the one specialized merely in the correction of the individual postural mistakes. My thesis will provide you with the methodology aimed at methods how to receive important information from a client. You can utilize them later when constituting an intervention program. Furthermore, you can find here my 3 - month intervention program which includes initial and final analysis. The program was based on the regular one - week supervised exercise plus an additional exercise which the client was meant to do on her own. The second part to the thesis consists of the initial and final datas of the client who participated in the program. The results have shown a progress of the postural habits, musculature strengthening and a pain removal from the lumbar area. The prerequisite for the successful therapy lies in the active participation of a client.
