Divisions within the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party in the period after 1945
JASZ, Adam
The main goal of this diploma thesis is to describe and analyze the activities of the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party in the Czechoslovak politic area after the end of World War II. Special emphasis is placed on the interpretation of various internal party disputes and conflicts. The disability of the National Socialists to avoid all these conflicts in the given period ultimately led to a weakening of their positions on the national political scene. However, there is also available another information in the text such as fine-focused description of the organization and function of the party, including the introduction of its leading representatives. The National Socialists were the biggest competitors and opponents of the Czechoslovak communists between 1945 and 1948. For this reason, the text of the thesis also deals with the political struggle between the two parties, which culminated in dramatic events in February 1948.
Czechoslovak-American diplomatic relations in the initial phase of the Cold War
JASZ, Adam
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze Czechoslovak-American diplomatic relations in the initial phase of the Cold War, especially in the second half of the 1940s in the 20th century. Particular emphasis is focused on the extension of international tensions and thus resulting world division into two antagonistic and opposing blocks. This fact significantly affected the post-war development of mutual contacts. The activity of the US Ambassador Laurence A. Steinhardt, who was the main representative of the United States interests in Czechoslovakia after the Second World War, is mentioned in more detail in individual chapters. The future relation development between Prague and Washington was therefore strongly depended on his personality and his diplomatic abilities.
