The Counter - Terrorism Strategies of the European Union and France. Case Study: Paris Terror Attacks in November 2015.

This thesis focuses on the fight against the terrorism in the EU and France. The aim of the thesis is to prove whether the EU and France have appropriate counter-terrorism policies and whether they are comparable. The quality of counter-terrorism policies is demonstrated in the analysis which was made within the case study of Paris terrorist attacks in November 2015. The theoretical part deals with the terrorism in general and with the evolution of EU and French counter-terrorism policies. The practical part is composed of the case study itself including the analysis of terrorist attacks, from which the conclusions were drew.
The influence of religion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of religion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, doing it in three different ways. Firstly, it examines the influence of the religion in the history of the conflict, then it looks for the potential religious impacts on the political parties and movements as the main actors deciding about the course of the conflict and it also analyzes the influence of the religion on one of the partial problems of this conflict, the question of the city of Jerusalem. The outcome of the bachelor thesis is the finding that the influence of the religion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not a marginal one, but on the contrary, the religion has a considerable impact on the events of the conflict and also on the way the conflict is percieved by its actors.
International arms trade in the context of global financial crisis

This thesis focuses on the international arms trade in the 21st century in the context of the global financial crisis in 2007-2009. The first part focuses on the basic terminology, principles and current regulation with a brief description of the development of trade in the late 20th century. In the second chapter it explains the origin, course, and consequences of the crisis and adopted anti-crisis measures. The third chapter describes the development during the crisis in the US, UK, India and Saudi Arabia.
Death of Muammar Gaddafi and its international legal and political circumstances

The thesis deals with the events that predated the death of Muammar Gaddafi and particularly examines whether the subsequent reactions of the persons involved were in accordance with international law. The essence of a war crime and its definition in terms of international law is researched in the theoretical part of the thesis. Further tackled is the perspective of both the main actors of the conflict and the main institutions active in the field of international law, such as the UN or the International Criminal Court. The author subsequently describes and analyses the main circumstances in which the long-time leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi died. On the basis of prior examination of the issue the thesis tries to answer the question of whether this case can be described as a war crime for which punishment should fall. The third part examines the reactions of the main actors who were influenced in the Libyan civil war. Of importanance is also the subsequent analysis of how was this incident reported in the media.
The South China Sea as an are of potential armed conflict?

The South China Sea dispute receives continually growing attention. Seven countries has territorial claims over the area. These countries are: People's Republic of China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei and Cambodia. The reasons are strategic position of the South China Sea, potential oil and liquid gas reserves and fisheries managemet. Countries outside of the region have various interests in the area as well. These countries are: the USA, Japan, India and South Korea. The South China Sea dispute exceeds its regional nature and the events in it influence the world on a global level. Does the dispute head towards armed conflict and does evidence tell us so? The aim of this work is to answer this question through the use of specific indicators. The focus during creation of this work is to combine quantitive methods of research with scholarly literature.
Role malých států v mezinárodních vztazích: Komparativní analýza České republiky a Izraele

This study is titled Role of Small States in International Relations: Comparative Analysis of the Czech Republic and Israel and its main purpose is to analyze a typical small state's behavior in the international arena on the examples of the Czech and Israeli foreign policy. It is divided into four respective sections -- a theoretical framework, historical background, and the two case studies, and it strives to answer a foundational question whether the Czech Republic and Israel can be considered small players in international relations based on the theoretical definition of the notion of a small state as well as the countries' current foreign policy approaches and tools.
