The image of city in the Czech and international novels

The aim of this work was to draft, by interpretation of selected prosaic works, the problems of changes of the artistic presentation of the town space in the Czech and the world literature from the end of the nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth centuries. The analysis confirmed presumption that it is by no means possible to rank certain work only into one group whose unification framework is poetic of certain artistic direction or literary technique and even at necessary reduction to dominant features used for description of the space any variant of town presentation is original combination of features of individual poetic and methods.

Development of Dictionary Writing System

The article presents a new Dictionary Writing System (DWS) that is being developed at the Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the CR, v. v. i., in connection with the preparation of a new monolingual dictionary of contemporary Czech. The overall software architecture is discussed in details; the software is implemented as a web application based on PHP, HTML, and MySQL technologies, users interact with it via the web browser.

Working with Praled and the entry structure in Pralex lexical database

In this article, we first present the overall structure of the Pralex lexical database, the work with the data entry form and Praled’s functions. We then focus on the general principles of the elementary processing of database entries, which are subsequently specified according to the individual word classes and entry types. The article ends with a specific example of the processing of an entry in the Pralex lexical database.

Content analysis of advertisements in mobile communication

Diploma work on the theme Content Analysis of advertisements' in mobile communication concerned by research work of mobile operators and mobile phone makes. First part of the research work focuses on characteristics of Koktejl magazine, where from I have picked the advertisements', descriptions of market operators and descriptions of used research technique. In next part the research work is being processed. This research work was done by content analysis of advertisements' in Koktejl magazine. It was done from all advertisements' of mobile communication, which were published since 1997 to the present. Research outcome is to find out how the printed communication in mobile world had changed and how had changed the communication of operators in moments, when they were becoming a part of transnational company.
