Alois Rašín influence on monetary policy of Czechoslovakia

This thesis maps the environment that was in the territory of the Czech and Slovak countries during the period of Austro -- Hungarian Empire, and then illustrates the post -- war consequences and starting conditions of the new state, the Czechoslovakia. Thesis explains the initial moments of the state and its economic situation. There is characterized Banking Bureau of the Ministry of Finance and the course of monetary separation. The actual chapter is devoted to personage Alois Rašín and his other achievements in the management of the economy.

This bachelor work concerns a beginning of monetary integration in Europe since the time of signature of Treaties of Rome. It mentions unsuccessful plans of monetary and economy integration in European countries. It presents conditions of an entrance to European Monetary Union, its forming and rules of running. It indicates a problem of debt crisis in Eurozone, its significance and consequences in affected countries. It also presents how EFSM, EFSF and IMF help affected countries to deal with their situation and another possible development.

The aim of the submitted thesis "Nominal and Real Convergence of the Czech Republic to EU (selected issues)" is to analyze nominal and real convergence of the Czech Republic to EU member countries from macroeconomic point of view, by using comparison with other transition economies. It presents and discusses theoretical issues relating to convergent process. The thesis deals with analysis of convergence using these indicators: GDP per capita in purchasing power parities, comparative price level, Maastricht criteria and some other indicators.
Current financial and economic crisis and the entry of the Czech Republic into the European Monetary Union

This Diploma Paper provides an analysis of the Czech Republic convergence process, which importance grows more in the period before entry into the European Monetary Union. The convergence is evaluated on the basis of three criterion units which are standing alone but fading into each other. It is the Nominal convergence including Maastricht criteria which have been stated in the Treaty on European Union, then Real convergence criteria and criteria which accompany the development of the Optimum Currency Areas Theory. The theoretical part gives the definitions of particular criteria and draw the attention to potential problems which can occur by their interpreting. In the practical part there are comparative characteristics used to analyze achieved state of the convergence in the Czech Republic in relation to EU countries and euro area countries. This part attends also to monitoring the current financial and economical crisis and it's impact on individual indicators.
Inflation targeting in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with inflation targeting in the Czech Republic. The first part explains the basic concepts associated with inflation targeting. The thesis clarifies the concept of inflation, monetary policy instruments, types of inflation and their quantification. The analytical part is devoted directly to the situation in the Czech Republic. It explains the reason of the implementetion of this scheme in the CR, implementation challanges and how the CNB dealt with these challanges. A large part of the thesis analyses the deviations from the inflation target. The summarizes the advantages and disadvatages that the monetary policy regime introduced. And then it contains the overall assessment of the success of inflation targeting in the Czech Republic.

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to find out if the admission of euro in the period of crisis was advantageous for Slovakia on the basis of comparison of the czech and the slovak economy. The first part gives a brief overview of the monetary development of Czech and Slovak National Bank from their creation till present. The last part deals with nominal convergence criteria and their fulfilling by Czech republic and Slovak republic and there is also briefly outlined perspective of euro's admission by Czech republic.
