Control software for filtration device Inteq II
Grolig, Ondřej ; Pásek, Jan (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
Aim of presented bachelor thesis, it was a preparation, implementation and debugging of user application designed for control system of experimental unit INTEQ II. Experimental unit INTEQ II is a technology serving for carrying out laboratory and semi-operational scale testing of catalytic filtration materials. Regarding the interdisciplinary character of thesis, the author threads technological description of experimental unit INTEQ II and also explains the principles of nitrogen oxides (NOx) reduction. Consequently he describes chosen control system and algorithms which served as a specification for user application. In the practical part of thesis, he passes through the source code of the user application and reveals the way he programmed and debugged tasks defined in algorithms. The user application has been implemented, debugged and tested in laboratories of institute of process and environmental engineering at faculty of mechanical engineering at Brno, University of technology. In the chapters on the end the thesis, author presents the results of his effort and comments the changes in the user application that had been done due to restriction of technology itself.
Modern methods of wet cleaning flue-gas
Kubíček, Jan ; Grolig, Ondřej (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
The main theme of this master’s thesis is to acquaint with flue gas cleaning problems. Also modernization of experimental device called “O-element”, installed in laboratory at Institute of process and environmental engineering, is involved in this master’s thesis. “Oelement is used for cleaning acid elements from flue gas. Further there are results of experimental measuring on this device, and their estimation.
Main characteristics of technology for biomass based energy production
Grolig, Ondřej ; Šikula, Jiří (referee) ; Šikula, Jiří (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with a technical economic analysis of the midrange biomass units use. The main output product of the thesis is the computational system based on balance models of cogeneration key nodes. The computational system is suited for cogeneration technologies based on the Rankin steam cycle. The computational system was used for a particular case study calculation focused on a 1 MW biomass boiler extension by an expansion engine (a steam turbine or steam engine).
Semi-operational verification of mercury removal from flue gas by electrochemical methods
Šyc, Michal ; Grolig, O. ; Přemyslovský, P. ; Pařízek, V.
This is the final report of the project Pilot-scale verification of mercury removal from flue gas by electrochemical methods TK04020330 summarizing the course of activities for the last year of the project and the results achieved during the project. The content of the report is a description of the commissioning and operation of the pilot unit designed and constructed during the project. The results of laboratory experiments, pilot-scale verification of the technology, and testing of mercury oxidation in flue gas. The conclusions drawn from the experimental results are included in the report.
Technical report on progress and achievements for 2022
Šyc, Michal ; Grolig, O. ; Přemyslovský, P. ; Pařízek, V.
The response of the research base has sparked interest in validating more advanced mercury separation techniques from flue gas than BAT. These techniques maintain the existing fuel base and focus on the wet scrubbing process of acid gases. The Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals has developed an original electro-separation technology of the soluble form of mercury from the wet limestone slurry, where the process simultaneously oxidizes the metallic mercury to achieve the desired capture.
