Flux Selection for Wave Soldering

The theoretical part of diploma thesis „Selection of a suitable type of flux for wave soldering”, is devoted to problematic of fluxes, flux residues and wave soldering. It introduces reader with requirements of company HC electronics and with selection of a suitable types of fluxes for testing. It also contains theoretical comparison and design of flux testing methodologies. The practical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the selection of a suitable flux for the company HC electronics by performing practical tests according to the previously proposed methodologies, which include wetting balance test method, surface insulation resistance measurement, copper mirror test, soldering test of PCB and ROSE method.

The theoretical part of this Bachelor thesis, „The measurement of ionizing radiation”, is devoted to certain knowledge of radiation. It is concerned with problems of ionizing radiation detection, sorts of ionizing radiation are described shortly together with its influences on human organism and with abilities of organism protection. Thesis also contains description of solid phase detectors of ionizing radiation with detailed description of gas filled detectors. The practical part of this Bachelor thesis is focused on designing of radiation detector with GM counter and realization of indication part device.

This article discusses part of my thesis „Flux Selection for Wave Soldering“. The part of it focuses on wetting balance test method. This method measures the wetting balance curves (dependence of the wetting force on time). This article contains a theoretical description of the wetting balance test method. It describes the calculation of the wetting force and buoyancy force. It also deals with the course of measurement, correction of the zero axis and evaluation of the measured values.
