Data Visualization Blender Add-On
Doležal, Zdeněk ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Chlubna, Tomáš (advisor)
With growing interest in visualisation techniques, possibility to extend existing 3D computer graphics software by visualisation tools arises. Thesis deals with theory of data visualisation in general, selection of suitable visualisations, design, creation and publication of an data visualisation add-on for the open-source software Blender. Thanks to this work Blender is extended using its Python API by an interface used for data loading and commonly used charts generation. The published implementation was evaluated by user survey and it is available open-source.
Charge transport in semiconductors
Pipek, Jindřich ; Belas, Eduard (advisor) ; Doležal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Oswald, Jiří (referee)
This thesis is focused on the study of charge transport in semiconductors. Monte Carlo simulation is combined with the numerical solution of the coupled drift-diffusion equation with Poisson's equation. These numerical simulations of charge transport are applied to experimental data to obtain charge transport parameters of the detector, such as electric field profile, space charge density, defect level energy, capture cross section and concentration, charge carrier drift mobility and diffusion coefficient, and other parameters. Semiconductor samples prepared from semi-insulating GaAs, CdZnTe, and CdZnTeSe single crystals are studied using electrical, spectroscopic, and optical characterization techniques.
Time-dependent CP violation in B0 → ηc KS0 decays at the Belle experiment, Alignment of the Belle II detector
Bilka, Tadeáš ; Doležal, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with two independent yet closely related topics. In the first part, a measurement of branching fraction and time-dependent CP violation in B0 → ηcK0 S, ηc → K0 SK± π∓ decays is performed. This decay allows access to sin 2ϕ1, where ϕ1 is an angle of the unitary triangle of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi- Maskawa quark mixing matrix. The measurement is based on the entire dataset of the Belle experiment, which consists of 772 × 106 B meson pairs collected at the KEKB e+ e− collider. The extracted mixing-induced and direct CP- violation parameters read sin 2ϕ1 ≃ S = 0.59 ± 0.17 (stat) ± 0.07 (syst) and A = 0.16 ± 0.12 (stat) ± 0.06 (syst), respectively. The measured product of branching fractions B(B0 → ηcK0 S) × B(ηc → K0 SK± π∓ ) is (9.8 ± 0.6 (stat) ± 0.4 (syst)±2.3 (int))×10−6 , where the last uncertainty accounts for interference with non-resonant background. The second part deals with the alignment of the vertex detector and the central drift chamber of the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider, which is a next-generation Super-B-Factory. With the new pixel detector and the presented alignment method, Belle II achieves approximately twice better impact parameter resolutions than Belle. The presented alignment procedure involves a simultaneous determination of about sixty thousand...

Study of the Belle II vertex detector resolution
Wilczek, Tadeáš ; Doležal, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Sýkora, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis studies the resolution of the Belle II detector using muons from cosmic ray tracks penetrating the detector. The first part describes the Belle II exper- iment. The next part explains the method used to find the resolution and applies it to data from Monte Carlo simulation. Then the same method is applied on data from Spring 2020 and compared with the results acquired from analyzing the Monte Carlo simulation. The last part examines more recent data taken from 29.10.2021 to 30.3.2022. Additionally as a part of this thesis a Python script capable of providing all the results shown in this paper was developed. 1
