The incidence of ageism from the perspective of helping workers in nursing homes

The bachelor thesis titled The occurrence of ageism from the perspective of helping workers in homes for the elderly is focused on age discrimination against the elderly. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the occurrence of ageism is manifested from the perspective of helping workers in a selected home for the elderly. The theoretical part is mainly focused on ageing and old age, ageism and care for the elderly. Subchapters elaborate on the age limits of old age, changes in old age, stereotypes and prejudices about old age and the social context of old age. They also capture the meaning of age, sources of ageism, current issues and ageism in the helping professions. Finally, they describe forms of care for the elderly, the providing of social services to the elderly, homes for the elderly, and helping workers in these facilities. The theoretical findings are followed by the empirical part of the thesis. It is carried out using a qualitative research strategy, semi-standardized interviews with helping workers from a selected home for the elderly. The aim of the research is to find out how the occurrence of ageism manifests itself from the perspective of helping workers in the selected home for the elderly.

Bullying in Secondary School Youth

The bachelor work deals with manifestations of bullying in the secondary school youth in Jičín. It is divided into a theoretical part (general) and a practical part (research investigation). In the theoretical part I elucidate the problem of bullying, its causes, forms, types, and also its development. To clear up the manifestations of bullying, it is necessary to alert you to those participating in bullying, especially to aggressors and their victims. In the last chapter of the theoretical part I devote myself to prevention (what a teacher and parent can do against bullying). In the practical part I establish the occurrence of bullying, student awareness of bullying, and who the students trust. This investigation is carried out by means of questionnaires filled out by second-class students from three secondary schools in Jičín. I analyse the individual questions in the questionnaire-type of investigation and I work out a table for each question with an interconnected discussion. Reasons of Addiction to Methamphetamine

The main topic of my bachelor's work, are reasons of addiction to methamphetamine. The goal is to find out the most common and most important reasons why young people, aged from twenty-five to thirty-three years living in the small village Dobronín, became addicted to methamphetamine. First, the thesis deals with drugs, with their division, as well as with deeper information about methamphetamine and specifics of addiction to methamphetamine. The important part of my work are chapters about the causes of addiction, factors that increase the risk of addiction and factors that increase resistance to addiction. Part of the work is also devoted to drug prevention. At the end of the work, there is the questionnaire survey. The results of this survey correspond to the goal of my work. The influence of friends, curiosity and the influence of the environment and the place where they lived were the most common and most important reasons why young people started to take drugs.

There is actual conditon of providing social services for homeless people in Pardubice in this graduation work, confront with the needs of these people that are expressed in the questionnaire. Social work and its distinction according the structure of service purpose in the institutions of social services for homeless people in Pardubice is described very properly in this graduation work. There is sollution of disproportion between offer and demand for individual social instituons in Pardubice suggested in the end of this graduation work. The main change would be in the origin of new institutions such as Lodging house for women, Subliminal institution for homeless people, Social and sanitary institution for homeless people and Housing for seniors and deseased homeless people in the end of this graduation work. Primary Prevention of Abuse of Addictive Toxic Substance - in Pilsen

The topic of this bachelor work is the primary drug prevention. The first part of this work - presents definitions of fundamental concepts and terms, further the effectiveness, evaluation and quality standards of preventive programs. The next chapter describes briefly the development of primary prevention in the Czech Republic and there are also listed actual legislative regulations. This is followed by concise epidemiology of drug addictions in Pilsener region from 1997 to 2007. The practical part maps projects of primary prevention of drug abuse - it is shown as a comparison of situations in the year 1997 and the present. The Prevention of Youth Criminality

This work deals with activities of three projects connected with the prevention of criminality generally and problems of criminality of young people. In the first chapter terms and prevention of criminality are described. The second chapter describes briefly criminality evolution of young people. There are typical characteristics of adolescent's criminality. The third chapter is about the civic association Prak as the example of primary prevention, program Pět P as the example of secondary prevention and tertiary prevention is shown on project Lata. There is the information about their rise, mission and goals and activities. The programs of Prak are for pupils who attend the second grade of basic or special schools and it should reinforce ethical and moral feelings and perception of young people. The main topic is the question of guilt - crime - punishment, the impact prison on human personality, personal moral standards and their creation. The program Pět P is for children between age 8 and 15 years old. They start to meet some volunteer and spend some free time together. It is good for child to have older friend, who can help him/her in difficult life situations. The project Lata is for 15 - 21 years old adults, who are in difficult situations. It can be problem with criminal offences or serious problem...
