Possibility of Increasing Efficiency of Induction Machines by Means of Combined Stator Winding
Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří ; Chomát, Miroslav
The paper analyses two basic variants of the combined connection of the stator winding of an induction machine. The aim of the use combined winding is to suppress the selected groups of higher spatial harmonics of the current layer and induction in the air gap and the flux in the yoke and thus lower the losses and improve the efficiency. There are given differential equations for both the variants. On the basis of a numerical solution of these equations, the ability of the two variants to suppress higher harmonics has been shown. The validity of the equations has been verified by experimental measurement on a physical model of an induction machine with the stator combined winding.

Mathematical Description of Combined Stator Winding of Induction Machines
Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří ; Chomát, Miroslav
The contribution is focused on estimation of properties of induction machines with the combined stator winding. The paper analyses the influence of the shift between the windings and the influence of the number of conductors of these windings on the currents and the torque of the machine with regard to the fundamental spatial wave. The result of the analysis is the set of differential equations describing operation of the machine with the combined windings.
IM with Six-Phase Combined Stator Winding - Analysis and Experimental Verification
Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří ; Chomát, Miroslav
The paper deals with increasingthe efficiency of induction machines by reduction of the content of higher spatial harmonics. The contribution analyses the combined stator winding, which enables to reduce or eliminate some of these harmonics. The results of the theoretical analysis are verified by experimental measurement.
Experimental Verification of Analytical Results of Five-Phase Induction Motor
Schreier, Luděk ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Bendl, Jiří
The paper is aimed the verification of theoretical results of the analysis of a five-phase induction motor by means of experimental measurements. The equations of the considered machine are stated in the paper. The waveforms of the stator currents gained by numerical simulation of an induction machine fed from a ten-pulse converter at various configurations of stator windings are compared with the measured waveforms.
Transient Behavior of Active Front-End Rectifier under Unbalanced Voltage Supply
Chomát, Miroslav ; Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří
Operation of voltage-source inverter supplied with unbalanced system of voltages is investigated in the paper. This situation can lead to problems in operation of an electric drive as voltage pulsations can arise in the DC-bus. Suitable kontrol methods may be applied to eliminate this effect in the aktive front-end rectifier. The paper particularly focuses on transient processes that accompany operation of the drive. They can be caused by changes in control of the drive, changes in load, or changes in the supply voltages.
Influence of Third Space Harmonic on Properties of Five-Phase Induction Machine
Schreier, Luděk ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Bendl, Jiří
The paper deals with the necessity to consider higher space harmonic waves of a current layer, magnetic flux density and yoke flux in a five-phase induction motor fed from a tenpulse frequency converter. It is shown that especially the third space harmonic influences currents and torque of the machina considerably. The influence depends on connection arrangements of the converter and stator of the five-phase induction machine. Theoretical results are verified by experimental measurements.

Chomát, Miroslav ; Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří
The mathematical model of a five-phase induction machine derived based on the theory of space vectors and symmetrical components was verified by means of comparison of simulation and experimental results. A multi-phase voltage source inverter was used to feed an experimental five-phase induction machine by ten-pulse voltage supply of constant frequency in different connection arrangements. Steady state operation was considered. The good agreement between the simulation and experimental results has proved the correct function of the mathematical and numerical model used.

Jelínek, M. ; Todorov, Filip ; Matějec, Vlastimil ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Kubeček, V. ; Berková, Daniela
The paper deals with the preparation of spherical silica microresonators by melting silica optical fiber with an oxygen-hydrogen flame. Resonant spectra of prepared spherical silica microresonators suitable for telecommunications and sensors purposes are also presented.
Necessity to Consider Space Harmonics in Multi-Phase Induction Machines
Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Skalka, Miroslav
The necessity to consider higher space harmonic waves of a current layer, flux density and flux in the stator yoke of multi-phase machines is presented on the example of feeding a six-phase induction machine by unbalanced stator voltages. Equations of a six-phase machine are presented and the relation between symmetrical components of instantaneous values and groups of space harmonics of the field in the air gap is shown.
