Plasmodium falciparum is an intracellular parasite that causes tropical malaria. Although plasmodium is not a problem in the middle latitudes, in tropical and subtropical regions it poses a great health threat. This specifically concerns little children, which constitute more than a half of the victims. This thesis discusses the invasion of the red blood cell by a merozoite, which is a key step of the parasite life cycle responsible for the disease development. The main part of the thesis deals with proteins secreted by organelles of the invasive apparatus of plasmodium cell. It is preceded by a chapter introducing basic information on P. falciparum and malaria. The end of the thesis contains a chapter on the parasite exit from the red blood cell. Key words Invasion, plasmodium, parasite, merozoite, red blood cell, tight junction, gliding motility, apical complex, micronemes, rhoptries
Faktory ovlivňující úspěšnost regenerace brownfields zemědělského původu na území Jihomoravského kraje
Charvátová, Klára
This bachelor thesis deals with the issues of the regeneration of agricultural brownfields in the South Moravian Region. The theoretical part is focused on the definition of basic terms, the causes of the agricultural brownfields origin and the consequences that their existence brings. In addition, this part contains the description of the regeneration process including the stakeholders. The empirical part consists of own research using the analysis of quantitative data provided by the Regional Development Agency of South Moravia and the Statutory City of Brno. From these data is formed database of non-regenerated and successfully regenerated agricultural brownfields within the research area. From this database were selected two case sites in which the process of regeneration was examined in detail using qualitative semi-structured interviews with people who were involved in these regenerations. Based on the results of research activities were identified the factors and barriers affecting the success of the regeneration process of agricultural brownfields and the studied issues were evaluated in the South Moravian Region.
Variabilita TLR2 receptoru u hrabošovitých hlodavců (Arvicolidae) napříč Evropou, v závislosti na parazitovanosti hostitele.
CHARVÁTOVÁ, Klára
This study investigates phylogenetic variability of the immune receptor TLR2 in arvicolid rodents from seven European countries. The variability was tested based on the presence or absence of ectoparasitic lice of the genus Hoplopleura and endoparasitic coccidia of the genus Eimeria.
