Participation of local actors into strategic planning

Strategic planning is currently a widespread tool for territorial development. Strategic plans can be used to plan activities, but they can also be a means of participation. Ideally, strategic planning should be based on mutual learning while the strategic plan should be a result of mutual consensus. In practice, we are dealing with the predominantly expert and predominantly community-based way of implementation, which differs through the involvement of local actors. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether communication and cooperation of the public administration with the non-profit secotr, private sector and the public sector works; and whether is the process of elaboration of the strategic plan and its implementation functional. How does this communication and co-operation take place and whether it has a contribution to the local community and i fit fundamentally changes the structure of the implemented activities. Four cities, which have appropriate conditions for the involvement of local actors, have been selected for the purposes of research. The main research method used was semi-structured interviews with trade union leaders in charge of strategic planning and with local actors who were either involved in the processing or their activity was locally important. Evaluation of the quality of life of seniors at the local level - an example of the Rudolfov town

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the classification of the quality of life of seniors. It evaluates both characteristics of the Rudolfov town, and needs and attitudes of the elderly citizens living in Rudolfov. The first part of the thesis discusses theoretical knowledge obtained from written sources about the quality of life and aging. The methodological part of the thesis includes discussing appropriateness of the questionnaires type of research in this field, designing the questionnaire, the process of the research and also the process of the data evaluation. The last part of the thesis discusses conditions, premises and potential of the Rudolfov town and it also presents the information obtained from the research. The purpose of the thesis is also to find correlations and connections between the key factors based on the statistic testing. In conclusion, all the obtained data were evaluated, with the effort to find the weaknesses and draft the prospective strategies for development of the Rudolfov town in terms of special needs of seniors to improve their quality of life.
