Quality of surface water in the Czech Republic and their treatability

The thesis deals with the quality of surface water in the Czech Republic and the development of its quality in the streams and reservoirs. Issues related to wastewater discharge to the recipient (often without cleaning) and seepage from agricultural land. At the end, it deals with water quality indicators, their acquisition and assessment based on normative documents and their calculation on the basis of measured values.

International legal protection of refugees persecuted for reasons of sexual orientation and gender identity

International Legal Protection of Refugees Persecuted for Reasons of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity: A Critique of the Human Rights Approach Abstract This thesis examines the human rights approach to the interpretation of the definition of refugee by using the example of persons persecuted on the grounds of sexual orientation and/or gender identity (SOGI). The thesis focuses primarily on the European area and how a human rights approach to the interpretation of 'persecution' may be relevant to the practice of European Union states specifically in relation to SOGI refugees. The first part outlines the context of persecution of persons fors reasons of their SOGI. It examines the criteria by which SOGI is, and potentially can be, subsumed under the relevant grounds of persecution for refugee status. The second part outlines the different approaches to interpreting the concept of persecution and elaborates more on the so-called 'circumstantial' approach embodied by UNHCR. The third part is devoted to elucidating the doctrine of the human rights approach pioneered by James Hathaway and his book The Law of Refugee Status. Summary of a potential evapotranspiration calculation methods in the selected river basins

The master's thesis deals with the research of available methods for calculating potential evapotranspiration and the subsequent application of selected methods. The text part describes general knowledge about evapotranspiration, specific types of vapors from different surfaces (water, soil, vegetation, snow cover, urbanized area). The following are methods of direct measurement, where the types of vapor meters are described, for which types of vapors they are used. Indirect measurement methods for determining potential evapotranspiration and their distribution are also described here. The main part of the research is empirical methods for calculating potential evapotranspiration, here is a selected list of these methods. Furthermore, a practical application of the method according to Thornthwaite, Hargreaves-Samani and Hargreaves-Allen is carried out using data from the Olomouc-Holice precipitation station, the data of which are available from the ČHMÚ portal. Then a comparison of the used calculation methods is made.
