Ondřichová, Adéla ; Bakusová, Tereza (advisor) ; Komínek, Tomáš (referee)
(v AJ) This bachelor thesis focuses on nursing care for a patient after kidney transplantation and presents a case study of a specific patient with chronic renal injury due to Alport syndrome, who underwent kidney transplantation from a cadaveric donor. The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the nursing care provided to the patient after kidney transplantation. The theoretical part provides an overview of renal failure, elimination methods, aspects related to transplantation, and a crucial section, patient education after transplantation. In the practical part are described the basic steps of preparing the patient for kidney transplantation and following nursing care in the first few days after transplantation. The case study of the patient is presented by describing his health status before and after transplantation. At the end of this part are described nursing diagnoses, the results of nursing care, and its effectiveness in the context of the patient's overall health status. Regime of a Diabetic Patient during Hospitalization in the Medical Ward at IKEM
Štosková, Michaela ; Bakusová, Tereza (advisor) ; Zvoníčková, Marie (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with a qualitative research on the regime of diabetic patients in the internal department at IKEM. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses mainly on the anatomy of the pancreas, the history of diabetes, types of diabetes mellitus, acute and chronic complications, as well as diagnosis and various types of treatment, including dietary treatment, treatment with oral antidiabetic drugs, insulin therapy and associated insulin application, self-monitoring of blood glucose levels, and transplantation. The practical part consists of nursing and medical history, as well as the regime that patients had on the ward. The thesis describes the regime of patients who are hospitalized in the internal department at IKEM, their dietary regime, blood glucose values, and the amount of insulin administered. Each patient is summarized at the end of their stay. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the real regime of patients with diabetes mellitus in the internal department at IKEM, such as the intervals between blood glucose measurement, insulin administration, and food intake. It also examines whether patients adhered to their dietary regime. The thesis is not intended to evaluate the quality of care provided. 8
The quality of life of patients with HeartMate 3 artificial cardiac support
Eliašová, Gabriela ; Bakusová, Tereza (advisor) ; Komínek, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the quality of life of patients with HeartMate 3 artificial heart support. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part deals with the basic description of the heart, its anatomical and physiological structure. It deals with the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic heart failure. Basic data regarding HeartMate 3 artificial cardiac support and nursing care for percutaneous cable dressing are described here. The empirical part is devoted to qualitative research, which is conducted in the form of interviews with five patients at IKEM on a standard cardiac surgery inpatient ward. It examines what symptoms the heart failure patients have started to manifest and what limitations they have in their daily life due to the HeartMate 3. It tries to find out self-sufficiency in personal hygiene in the shower, when dressing the percutaneous cable, physical activity at home and outside, and the ability to travel. Keywords: heart failure, quality of life, artificial heart support, HeartMate 3
Regime of a Diabetic Patient during Hospitalization in the Surgical Ward at IKEM
Slavíková, Petra ; Bakusová, Tereza (advisor) ; Komínek, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on research during the hospitalization of three type II. diabetics at the Transplantation Surgery Clinic at IKEM. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the anatomy, history of diabetes, diagnosis, possible complications of diabetes, potential therapy, education of diabetics, and nursing care for diabetics. The practical part focuses on independent research of the regime by monitoring the diabetics for two days during their hospitalization. The aim of the thesis is to focus on the precise course of hospitalization for diabetics. The aim is not to control the correct course, but rather to examine the regime that is provided to diabetics on the surgical ward at IKEM. The thesis evaluates the regularity and amount of food intake, blood glucose measurements, insulin administration, and adherence to dietary measures. The thesis describes the individual nutrition of the selected diabetics, with precisely measured blood glucose values and the amount of insulin administered. It also includes final questioning of the patients on specific questions closely related to the regime. The goal of the interview was to identify potential complications that patients suffer from. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, blood glucose, IKEM, nursing care

Furthermore, the work deals with heart failure and its treatment options. A large part of the theoretical part is dedicated to mechanical heart support, especially the HeartMate 3 device and nursing care of patients with this device. The final chapter of the theoretical part informs about the negative pressure treatment of wounds.
