Evaluation of the Most Effective MRI Methods for a Diagnosis of the Brain Tumors
Širůčková, Kateřina
The purpose of this project is to find out the most effective method for a diagnosis of the brain tumors utilizing different magnetic resonance imaging methods. Acquired MRI images were analyzed in two diagnostic programs, and obtained data were displayed into ratio-graphs. According to the results, volume-ration images are considered the most sufficient. The advantage of this method is that it provides doctors with significant information regarding the differences of the measured values between healthy and pathological tissue.

This project deals with the analysis of different options of housing financing. The work describes the functioning of the building saving accounts and the mortgage credit together with refunding of the mortgage credit, possibilities of the subvention, comparison and combination of more products, their advantages and disadvantages etc. The practical part of this work includes the model examples and recommendations of the optimal solution of housing financing.
Spectral computed tomography: comparison of real and virtual nativ images
Širůčková, Kateřina ; Bartušek, Karel (referee) ; Marcoň, Petr (advisor)
Advanced X-ray medical diagnostic methods massively increase the radiation exposure of patients. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on the reduction of radiation and its stochastic and deterministic effects. This project compares real native images TNC with virtual native images VNC. Virtual native images are acquired by spectral computed tomography method and it is suggested that VNC could potentially substitute real native images, thereby, the total radiation dose from multiphase spectral CT would decrease. A comparison was performed by defining certain parameters that represented the differentiation of the measured and calculated values in the images. The parameters were SNR, CNR, absolute difference, relative error and they were analysed by statistical tests using p-value and correlation analysis. Another output is a database of patients with compared parameters from real and virtual native images.
Analysis of pathological brain tissue from MRI data
Širůčková, Kateřina ; Bartušek, Karel (referee) ; Marcoň, Petr (advisor)
Due to the high resolution of soft tissue, magnetic resonance imaging plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and therapy planning in the neurosurgery field whereas it is necessary to determine which pathology in the brain tissue is involved. Glioblastoma multiforme, metastatic tumours, lymphomas, and abscesses are examined in detail from magnetic resonance images. In clinical practice, all mentioned pathologies are diagnosed through invasive methods in the form of biopsy followed by histology of the affected tissue. This work is focused on an alternative non-invasive method of tumour diagnosis. The method is based on the data analysis from defined curves (drawn into the apparent diffusion images) that lead from the tumour area through peritumoral edema, up to healthy tissue. The analysis of descending and ascending parts of the curve could lead to non-invasive diagnostics of the pathological tissue.
Spectral Computed Tomagraphy: Comparison Of Real And Virtual Native Images
Širůčková, Kateřina
This paper is based on the comparison of real and virtual native images obtained from spectral computed tomography (CT). Both types of images are compared by the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), HU/HU* ratio and in the relation of used contrast medium. Parametric and non-parametric tests were used for statistical analysis of the measurements. The main purpose of this study is to contribute on the wider issue which is radiation dose reduction on the patient. This problem has not been fully researched yet but it has been proposed that the virtual images could be computed mathematically from the images acquired by the conventional scanning protocol for spectral CT and used instead of the real images.
