Portfolio Optimization

This master’s thesis deals with problematics of portfolio theory, which helps to create optimal portfolios for the selected investment company. Portfolios consist of shares, which are traded on New York Stock Exchange and which include a historical value at least for two years. There are two ways of creating portfolios. The first way is the portfolio with minimal risk and no required return and the second way is the portfolio with minimal risk and required return. In this thesis are used mathematical methods, which include a linear algebra, an optimization and a statistics.

Analysis of Functions of Several Variables in Inventory Management

This bachelor’s thesis construates model which helps to retailer determining optimal prices of items and determining the maximum length of the period over which the goods can be sold at a profit. This model deals with two situations in which supplier provides the supplier credit for permissible delay. The model expects the time-dependent demand and has been developed for non-deterioration items. In this model are used the methods of mathematical analysis.

Modern history of Aero cinema

This work deals with the recent history of the film theatre Aero, from the year 1998, when it was taken over by the citizens association Pro-Aero, Company for the renewal and development of Aero. The first part describes in detail the growth of this art cinema, the conception of its dramaturgy based on short festivals and original events. The work also deals with the gradual growth of Aero's regional network; its affiliation with other cinemas (Bio Centrál in Hradec Králové, Světozor and Bio Oko in Prague), as well as with the distribution of movies through the company Aerofilms. The second part analyses the promotional strategies of Aero and its sister companies which involve the use of the marketing instruments of 4P, the evolution of ticket prices and of box office rates. Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival’s Industry Programme and Its Benefits For a Producer

The present thesis explores the industry programme of the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, as well as the ways producers benefit from it. This festival has a long-term tradition organizing programmes for film professionals. The individual components of the programme are conceived, respectively, for participants of various professions, for instance festival directors or film directors, with its main section, Emerging Producers, aimed at starting European producers.
The first part of the present work describes the history of Jihlava IDFF and the individual sections of its industry programme, while the second part compares the festival to two other ones of similar size, namely CPH:DOX and Visions du Réel Nyon, whose conceptions differ to a significant extent from Jihlava’s. The last section of the thesis, drawing in part on online questionnaires administered to Emerging Producers participants and to the producers of films competing at the festivals in question between the years 2012 and 2016, examines the contribution industry programmes bring to producers.

Distribution and Marketing Strategies of Aerofilms Company

The work focuses on Aerofilms company, mainly on its distribution and marketing strategies. The first part describes briefly the history of Aerofilms since its foundation and presents its founders who also run three of Prague art cinemas ? Aero, Světozor and Bio Oko. The second part is devoted to the dramaturgical conception of the film selection. Alternative content is a significant part of Aerofilms portfolio, such as the live broadcasts of Metropolitan Opera in New York or National Theatre in London. The third part covers the development of the annual turnout and turnover, and also analyzes the means of promotion which Aerofilms uses, with the aid of a marketing mix 4P.
