Dialogue methods in adult education
Pecháčková, Iva ; Reichel, Jiří (referee) ; Beneš, Milan (advisor)
My Bachelor final paper describes the possibilities and limits of using chosen dialogue methods in adult education. Chapter One explores the contents and etymology of the concepts of dialogue, discussion, debate and method. Chapter Two places dialogue methods within the context of adult education methodology, names some theoretical reasons for their existence and mentions a couple of common techniques. Chapters Three to Five each introduce one complex system of methods based on dialogue; Socratic dialogue in the Nelson-Heckmann tradition, academic debating and Open Space Technology. Each chapter initially states the origin and philosophical background of the method in question, then explains how the method usually operates and eventually discusses its chances of being used in everyday adult education. Chapter Six compares the three previously described methods. Chapter Seven contains a description and an analysis of the theory of dialogue education by the American adult educator Jane Vella. The chapter also offers some case studies that illustrate the theory.

The role of direct foreign investments in the Russian economy
Karmalkova, Evgeniya ; Sojka, Milan (advisor) ; Cahlík, Tomáš (referee)
Today, the urgency of inflow use of foreign capital investments in the Russian economy is obvious. The aspiration for openness of the economy, increase of the competitiveness of national industries, reestablishment of the confidence in the world market, the participation in the international financial exchange cause the necessity to create conditions for attraction of foreign investments. One of the major problems of reforming and modernization of the Russian economy is the ability to attract foreign direct investments. As considering serious technological gap of the Russian economy in the majority of positions, the foreign capital which could bring new (for Russia) technologies and modem methods of management is simply of utmost importance for Russia. The inflow of foreign capital investments is vitally important for the achievement of such purposes, as a way out from crisis and a basis for initial development of the economy. The Russian public interests cannot always coincide with the interests of foreign investors. It is important to involve capitals in a way that does not deprive their owners of motivations, and at the same time directing actions of investors for the welfare of the public purposes. The aim of my thesis is the complex research of a role of foreign direct investments in the economy of...

How is the leaf of a higher plant adapted to its photosynthetic function ?
Matušková, Eva ; Nátr, Lubomír (referee) ; Tichá, Ingrid (advisor)
4 Abstract Photosynthesis is a complex of complete biochemical processes which are working in photosynthetic structures, in our case in the leaf of higher plant. Leaf is the main photosynthetic organ of the higher plant which is excellently adapted to its photosynthetic function. Leaf used to be thin (short transport pathways) and used to have a big leaf area which enables to catch as much as possible of incoming irradiance. Light is falling to leaf epidermis. Epidermal cells do not contain chloroplasts and they represent a system of lenses which concentrate the light to the leaf mesophyll so that a light gradient appears. The cells of the palisade parenchyma are columnar and prolongated and the intercellular spaces enable the light going deeper into the leaf mesophyll. On the surface of the palisade parenchyma cells light is scattered and reflected and thus a significant proportion of down-welling light is sent back and will be absorbed for photosynthesis. The cells of spongy parenchyma have a very irregular shape and that amplifies multiple photon scattering. Important substrate for photosynthesis is a quantity of CO2. CO2 is in surrounding atmosphere and enters the leaf mainly through stomata what is the first barrier limiting CO2 flux into the leaf if the stomata are half-open or closed. Further on, CO2...

Interpersonal dynamics in dubbing of TV series: dominance, verbal and non-verbal action of characters
Charvátová, Jitka ; Josek, Jiří (referee) ; Jettmarová, Zuzana (advisor)
So far the filmic dialogue and its translation have been researched mainly from the perspective of the translator of the script, this approach being justified by the claim that the translator cannot manipulate any other but the verbal code. The nature of the audiovisual text, whether in its original or dubbed version, is, nevertheless, explicitly multimodal, and its complex meaning is coded on multiple level via diverse means. An important factor which makes audiovisual research complicated is the fact that the audiovisual text is essentially a teamwork determined by collaboration of many different people in different stages of its production. This thesis attempts to approach the audiovisual text of as a whole, that is, in the form it is presented to the audience. The opening part identifies the specifities of audiovisual text and its dubbing, including its multidimensionality, role and function of its dialogue, process of dubbing production and constraints of the contemporary Czech dubbing market. What follows is a contrastive analysis of an opening scene of The X-Files Pilot in its English and Czech dubbed versions with respect to the sequential build-up of the interpersonal dynamics in both versions. Also focused is the interplay of the verbal and non-verbal codes in the action of the characters. For...

Everyday life, media and dissemination of information - Ghetto Terezín 1941-1945
Vomáčková, Michaela ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
The topic of the dissertation is focused on the Terezin concentration camp during the Second World War and specifically in the period of 1941-1945. The phenomenon of Terezin is connected here with the contemporary subject of today's society, that of media and communication. The paper interconnects these two phenomena. This paper draws a parallel between the role of media in an open and closed society based on general facts and data. The aim of the dissertation is to provide a complex view of media and information in a specific environment. The dissertation consists of six chapters, The first gives an overview of the concentration camp and the historical period associated with the ghetto. In particular, it deals with the Nazi ideology of the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question". The subchapter focuses on the composition of the camp's population and its management. The second chapter centres on the possibilities of communication through the media during the period. This general framework is then applied to "forced community". Mass media, namely press and broadcast form the majority of this section. The third chapter deals with propaganda as part of ideology in association with media. This chapter presents individua1forms of propaganda used in a totalitarian system. The fourth chapter describes the...

Computer Assisted Deformity Correction using the Taylor Spatial Frame (TSF)
Ganger, Rudolf ; Dungl, Pavel (advisor) ; Gallo, Jiří (referee) ; Poul, Jan (referee)
The management of multiapical and multidirectional deformities of the lower limb due to different aetiologies is still a challenging task for the orthopaedic surgeon. Internal fixation techniques for deformity correction are normally combined with open osteotomies and acute correction. For complex deformities these methods are restricted by several factors, particularly when additional leg length discrepancy has to be corrected. (...) Different modes of the software program are available; the Total Residual Program is most helpful. Despite using the same principles for callus distraction as the Ilizarov device, the computer-operated TSF allows a great number of advantages: The handling of the frame is less time consuming, no difficult changes of hinges are necessary. The duration of the correction time is predictable due to the prescription site, and what's most important the results of treatment are more accurate than the Ilizarov device as shown in a study. In 1999 at the Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising we started to change from the Ilizarov system to the Taylor Spatial Frame for treatment of complex deformities and leg lengthening. From June 1999 to February 2009 we were able to perform correction of 501 segments with the TSF- system. The patients suffered from congenital and hereditary disorders...

Formulation of the requisition for services related to Internet communication
Langr, Lukáš ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Kafka, Daniel (referee)
In this work, I would like to focus on the issue related to the formulation of requirements for the delivery of services related to Internet communications, specifically to its most common form - websites. The goal of my work is to introduce the aspects of the implementation of the web pages (from basic business presentations to complex web applications such as e-shop or community site) to creators of the requisition, who are prepared to enter the world of the Internet. Provide them with an overview across the typical features of web applications to be able to formulate their own requirements for a successful website. The knowledge will serve them in the choice of supplier of the solution and also in the first stage of the subsequent implementation. The opening part of my work will be dedicated to description of the basic services related to Internet communications, such as internet service providing or applications hosting on dedicated servers. In the next chapter is already focusing on the specification of the requisition for the delivery of services related to the development and maintenance of websites. This includes the definition of those services, clarification of the types of websites and applications. While we are formulating any kind of requisition, it is important to follow certain procedures and forms. For this reason, I dedicated one of the chapters to specifications of the structure of a typical requisition document related to web applications. In the finals chapters, I will focus on the requisition for websites from different perspectives, such as the graphic appearance, functionality, accessibility and usability, security and ultimately the running web applications and internet marketing.

The crime of disorderly conduct
Prokop, Lukáš ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Herczeg, Jiří (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of the criminal offense of disorderly conduct focusing on disruption of organised sport events. This action is also referred to as spectator violence. The term of spectator violence, sometimes simplified as hooliganism, is used in different ways and it is not strictly defined. It usually includes violent or dangerous behaviour of spectators during sport events. The content is divided into eight chapters, which aim at defining this term and offer a complex and clear analysis. Opening passages are dedicated to criminal offense of disorderly conduct as such. They include an analysis of prerequisites conditioning the committing of criminal offense of disorderly conduct according to the § 358 of penal code. It serves as a vocabulary of terms for further study and for understanding of the mutual interconnection with the term spectator violence. Chapter III is an attempt at a proper definition of the spectator violence phenomenon through the description of values and ideals that are threatened by this conduct and through the overview of the methods used while committing this crime. The next part deals with the profiles of the perpetrators established through the criminological characteristics. Psychological motivation of the spectators to visit the stadiums is also looked...
