Digital Archive of Historical Book Holding Documentation: Disclosure Concept of Secondary Image Information

Object extraction from complex images
Čudai, Štefan ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
The aim of this work was to design and implement an architecture for image retrieval based on hand drawn sketches. A descriptor is used to classify a monochrome user-drawn sketch as well as color images in the database. It is based on a descriptor proposed for MPEG-7, a so-called Edge histogram descriptor. Using [6] as reference, the algorithm was implemented, evaluated and improvements were proposed. Because sketch quality is an important factor in the overall search quality, several ways to decrease this dependance were proposed. These are search grid shifting, empty cell detection and very similar cell detection. A method for nding images containing trees and other natural objects using noisy cells was proposed. Experimental part of this work deals with determining the in uence of various parameters on the precision of search results. The results obtained demostrate that the system provides an intuitive way to search an image database.

Optical Motion Capturing
Zátopek, Martin ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Štěpán, Vladimír (referee)
Main thema of the thesis lies in optical motion capture algorithms and their usage with cheap webcameras. Multiple cameras connected to a single computer are taken into account, while using Video4Linux on the Linux operating system for reading image data. Two camera calibration algorithms are inspected in detail: Direct Linear Transformation and Tsai calibration. Practical part of the work deals with design and implementation of an optical motion capture system, using Reg Willson's implementation [5] of Tsai calibration. Documentation for the system contains description of calibration scene, semiautomatical procedure of retrieving calibration data, synchronization and storing data from multiple devices available on a local network. Final reconstruction of marker's 3D coordinates uses standard translational format TRC.

Medieval mural paintings in the cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Hradec Králové
Tehníková, Eleonora ; Hlaváčková, Jana Hana (advisor) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with medieval mural paintings. Its aim is to describe and classify the collection in terms of time and style in the context of contemporary production of mural paintings in the 14th century in Bohemia. In the introduction, historical realtionships connected with the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit are described and the development of church service in East Bohemia is outlined. Style analysis qualifies style resemblance, analogy, parallels and confronts the mural paintings with contemporary book, mural and carving production. It also deals with the problematics of over painting accidental intervention into the monument. This part deduces the probable creation time of the whole interior decoration of the decanal sacristy. The final part evaluates and recapitulates the whole problematics. The diploma thesis offers the first detailed analysis and evaluation of the paintings in the decanal sacristy of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Hradec Králové and provides complete drawing and photographic documentation.

HDR Video Plugin for Adobe Premier

3D laser scanner
Pilmann, Jindřich ; Ježek, Pavel (referee) ; Holub, Viliam (advisor)
This work contains a description and an implementation of simple 3D scanner. The scanner is formed by cheap web cam, simple device created from laser from old CD-ROM drive and software. It is based on triangulation method of scanning. It uses the DLT method for the transformation of image coordinations into the world space. The output is in VRML format. It is not supposed to compete with professional tools, it should be only a description of a possible simple solution.

Hypermedia APIs and their use for enhancing integration of IT services
Annau, Mike ; Šebesta, Michal (advisor) ; Jelínek, Ivan (referee)
This paper's aim is to design and implement a tool transforming REST Web APIs into APIs which facilitate the integration process. The improvement of integration is mainly divided into two parts: The embedding of semantic data in order to establish a common understanding of objects, properties and relations and the possibility to navigate through the API structure in an easy and automated way. The theoretical part is dealing with the fundamentals of Web APIs, today's related trends and the API's shortages and points of improvement. Another objective of this paper is to compare current data standards of output formats for so called Hypermedia APIs, whereas the most suitable components will be chosen as the output format of this paper's resulting tool. The practical part is dealing with the design and implementation of the tool being developed. Included, there is the description of test scenarios, related benefits for the tool's users as well as a final evaluation of the resulting tool and a discussion of the tool's future potential. The benefits of the tool are evaluated in a case study.
