Association Protection of Mothers and Infants in The Kingdom of Bohemia

The diploma thesis discuss about the association Protection of Mothers and Infants in The Kingdom of Bohemia from the day when it was founded (November 1915) to the end of the first world war. This topic reflects the ratios of social care of the most vulnerable group of the population - infants and pregnant women. The focus of the thesis is the analysis of archival sources, consisting of official files, police reports, sources of a personal nature, periodicals and published memoirs. I also work with historical medical and social works focused on maternity protection and infant care. Thematically, the thesis deals with social history, historical medical care focused on infants, but also deals with the position of women's role in the society as a mothers. I also focused my attention on some leading personalities. The impulse for further research was the financial aspect of the Protection of Mothers and Infants in The Kingdom of Bohemia, as well as the issue of education of the public in matters of infant care and nutrition and also the form of self- presentation of the association to the public.
