On the Relation between Function and Tectonics in the Typology of Ceremonial Songs on the Border of the So-Called Eastern and Western Song Styles
Frolcová, Věra
The paper draws on sources of traditional music from Moravia, Silesia, and from Czech, Polish and Slovak comparative material. It deals with the metro-rhythmic and tectonic principle of typology of traditional music. The typology of ceremonial song is characterized by both the integration tendencies (the inter-ethnic Moravian-Silesian-Polish types of common function), and disintegration tendencies of development (regional and local types).
