Cricothyroidotomy in pre-hospital emergency care
KOTIŠOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis is on a topic named Cricothyroidotomy in prehospital emergency care. It has two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part focuses on prehospital emergency care, paramedics profession, his competencies, and the cricothyroidotomy itself. It also includes obstruction of the upper airway as an indication of cricothyroidotomy and legal circumstances that are related to this procedure. The practical part focuses on the data's evaluation to confirm or refute the hypothesis on individual aims. The aims of the work are composed to map out the theoretical knowledge of last resort and performance of cricothyroidotomy in prehospital emergency care. Also to map out the preparedness of the paramedics to the potential performance of cricothyroidotomy in prehospital emergency care. The third and last aim is to compare the experience of paramedics of South Bohemian and Pilsen regions with permission to perform the cricothyroidotomy in ambulance. The way of managing the aim of the work is achieved with quantitative data collection techniques through questionnaires. The questionnaire was sent to the authorized person of prehospital medical service in South Bohemia and the Pilsen region. We evaluated the data collected from questionnaire with basic descriptive statistics and then we tested determined hypothesis. We used chi square test for testing the hypothesis to find out existence of a relation between examinated categories of data. Also, we used a 95 % confidence interval and the Spearman nonparametric correlation which operates on the principle of t test. Academic purpose of the work is refers to some shortcomings which can cause uncertainty about the procedure. We address this issue in discussion and suggest possible solutions. After evaluation of the hypotheses, we discovered paramedics have sufficient theoretical knowledge despite of unique indication of this procedure. Based on the collected data we found out the existence of a relation between some of the practical experiences and the preparedness to perform the cricothyroidotomy. On the other hand, some of the practical experiences don´t have this relation. Last but not least, we found out that experiences of paramedics with permission to perform cricothyroidomy are the same in South Bohemia and Pilsen regions.

Nursing care of a patient after pulmonary lobectomy in an intensive care bed
VAŇKOVÁ, Veronika
This bachelor's thesis focuses on nursing care for patienst after pulmonary lobectomy in the intensive care unit. Pulmonary lobectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of a lung lobe, most commonly due to lung cancer. The aim of this thesis was to identify the specific aspects of care for patients after pulmonary lobectomy, emphasize the importance of care for chest drains provided by educated nurses, and explore the significance of rehabilitation during recovery. The research was conducted using qualitative methods through interviews in the departments of cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery. The research sample consisted of seven patients hospitalized in these departments and four doctors. The results of the research indicated that nurses responsible for the care of chest drains are well-trained, which contributes to a low incidence of complications associated with these drains. It was also found that early rehabilitation is crucial for successful recovery, as delayed rehabilitation can lead to numerous complications that limit patients' everyday activities. The study also examined the specifics of care for patients after pulmonary lobectomy, which in many aspects do not differ from care after other thoracic surgeries. The findings of this work confirm that patients after pulmonary lobectomy receive quality care from professionally trained staff. These insights can be used to educate new nurses and inform patients who are undergoing this procedure.
The use for mid-term and long-term venous inputs in pre-hospital emergency care
NĚMCOVÁ, Petra
The thesis on the topic of the Use of Medium and Long-Term Venous Accesses in Pre-Hospital Care introduces general information about venous accesses and its nursing care in the theoretical part. The practical part examines the knowledge and experience of emergency medical technicians with these venous accesses. Three objectives were set for the practical part of the thesis. The first objective maps the frequency of medium and long-term venous accesses in pre-hospital care. The second objective maps the knowledge of emergency medical technicians about the use of medium and long-term venous accesses in pre-hospital care. The third objective maps the opinions of emergency medical technicians on the use of medium and long-term venous accesses in pre-hospital care. The practical part was conducted in the form of quantitative research. An electronic questionnaire created using Microsoft Forms was used for processing the practical part of the thesis. The questionnaire included both closed and open questions. The total amount was 24 questions. The questionnaire was distributed across two regions, Vysočina and South Bohemia. The questionnaire was completely anonymous. Based on the research part of the thesis, it is advisable to improve the equipment of the EMS vehicles by adding a Huber needle for the use of the venous port of a patient. The presence of this needle will allow emergency medical technicians access to an already existing venous port, which can be crucial in providing care to patients who have this port in place. In addition to technical equipment, training for emergency medical technicians is also important. It would be beneficial to introduce regular training as part of lifelong education, focused at least on theoretical knowledge. It is important that this training includes not only a theoretical part but also practical exercises in nursing care and the administration of medications into these accesses. Practical training is key to gaining the necessary experience and increasing the confidence of emergency medical technicians when working with these accesses. This would not only improve the quality of care provided but also reduce the risk of catheter related infections and pain during unsuccessful attempts to insert a peripheral venous catheter in patients. The implementation of these recommendations would contribute to the overall improvement of healthcare services provided, which would have a positive impact on both emergency medical technicians and the patients themselves.
Medicinal equipment of ambulance vehicles in individual regions
BRABEC, Jan
This bachelor's thesis deals with the medical equipment of vehicles of medical emergency services in the South Bohemia Region and the Vysočina region and its use in various urgent areas. The theoretical part deals with the importance of pharmacology in emergency medicine, the possibilities of medicines' administration in preadmission care, medical legal issues, and above all groups of medicines that are used in emergency care in the South Bohemia Region and the Vysočina Region. The final segment of the theoretical part focuses on the specifics of individual regions, that are supplemented with tables. In the practical section, information is obtained through semi-structured talks with six medical paramedics from the South Bohemia Region and six medical paramedics from the Vysočina Region. Furthermore, two objectives and two research questions have been identified in the practical part. The first goal was tasked with mapping of the equipment of medical emergency services South Bohemia Region cars and the Vysočina region. The second one was to find out what the difference in the medical equipment of the medical emergency services cars between South Bohemia Region and Vysočina region is. Subsequently this work sets out two research questions. The first question is what the drug equipment of medical emergency services cars in South Bohemian and Vysočina Regions is, the second one is what differences there are in the drug equipment of medical emergency services South BohemiaRegion and the Vysocina Region. We believe that the set targets have been reached to make it possible to look into the medical equipment and at the same time being able to compare the differences between the two regions. The outcome of the research survey is, that the differences between these two regions are insignificant and thus do not affect rescuers' interventions in preadmission care.
